What you've become
Just as I have
Are you and I so unalike?
Huddled here, you,
Just as I am
Afraid if we dance we might die |

It's really just the tune, since I'm not sure what the words are. It's the song from the closing credits of the mini-series "The Corner" (created by David "The Wire" Simon). Usually I have some Hebrew song stuck in my head, but since Hebrew school is on break this week, I have been blissfully free of Hebrew ear-worms. |

If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Still my heart this moment
Or it might burst
Could we stay right here
Until the end of time until the earth stops turning
Wanna love you 'till the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
I'm listening to this song right now, so that's what is in my head. It is Gorecki by Lamb. |

You'd hate to be me. Songs play in my head for up to a week at a time, the same 10 seconds or so over and over and over in an endless loop. Right now it's "Saved by zero....." |
LindaH |
Is music without words easier on you (not as annoying) in that regard? Can that kind of music 'replace' songs that have words? |
| cerealkiller | | (reply to LindaH) posted 21-Feb-2008 2:56pm |
NO, even my cell phone wake-up alarm melody plays in my head. It is hard to avoid music altogether since you can't control random appearances of music on tv, in stores, etc. All it takes is 3-5 seconds of a song and it's fixed in my brain. Mostly songs I can't stand either. |

YOU REMINDED ME OF.........
When I get older losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?
You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?
Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight
If it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?
Ho!
