No. There's no reason anyone should ever need to do this. If you ever have to lie about where a bruise came from, something is SERIOUSLY wrong! |

Sometimes. |

Sometimes kids might lie if they are being abused at home or bullied. Also if a kid gets in a fight and doesn't want the parents to know.
I'm sure as adults something would be seriously wrong, as well as abused kids, but some might lie so they dont get in trouble. |

 Other answer...
This one of those yes and no answers, I have never lied about any bruises on my body, (who would care?) but I have fibbed about putting bruises on my siblings when I was young. |

Yes - I was attacked once and I didn't want to tell everyone what had happened... |

Oh I laid charges against the guy - we never found him but I didn't want to have to explain to my parents that I was in a situation like that so I lied! Trust me; the guy was as bruised as I was! |
LindaH | | posted 11-Feb-2008 5:20pm |
Oh, well I guess there are good reasons for lying about it. |

Yes, I can remember three times. Once when I was a teen my and a friend got into a physical fight and she punched me on the side of the head a few times. I know I lied about it to my parents...don't worry she got hers.
Another time as a teen I'd been drinking. I was acting an ass and pretended to be dead and it freaked this guy out so much because he thought I had alcohol poisoning and was ready to call an ambulance. When he realized I was just messing with them he took my shoe and beat me on the forehead with it. I lied about that one too. Don't worry, I haven't drank alcohol in many many years.
The only time as an adult was when I banged my wrist against the wall out of frustration and anger. I felt like an idiot after so I said I got my arm caught in the frame of the day bed. It had happened in the past so it was a plausible lie. |

What bruise yours or mine ? |

I don't think I've ever had a reason to be dishonest about the origin of a bruise. So, no. |

No, but I have had a scrape or cut that I told my mom that she had caused so she'd feel guilty. xD |
cloudhugger | | posted 12-Feb-2008 5:38pm |
Yes I have. And if I tell you now, it would totally defeat the purpose of lying about it in the first place. |

No, although I bruise very easily and also bump into a lot of furniture (I'm not especially klutzy, so I'm not sure why I do this). I frequently have bruises, especially on my hips and legs. I've often gotten the feeling that someone didn't believe me when I told them it was just from bumping into something. I have never lied about where a bruise came from, and I've never had one that was the result of physical abuse. |

Really? So you slip on a banana skin or a bar of soap and fall arse over bewb, landing with your arm on a piece of lego. You end up with a bruise. Not wanting to embarrass yourself, when asked you say that you bumped into a piece of furniture. Is that really so bad? |
LindaH | | (reply to Melf) posted 13-Feb-2008 1:05pm |
I was thinking about people who were covering up assault or something.
No, that's not so bad, but couldn't you just say you fell, without providing details? |

Yes - Sometimes there are these little bruises you get on your thighs........... My Mum did NOT need to know. (she did of course!) |

Yeah. I'm not sure anyone really believed me. I'm a horrible liar. Plus, how many times can one person run into a door? |

I said no... but I have jokingly told people an SO did it... |

I got carried away with a description and lost my original point. I totally get what you're saying, I was just feeling finicky. |

No. I've never needed to . |

I only lie about where bruises come from if they're from sex, or actions leading up to sex. I feel as though certain people would not appreciate where they came from if they knew. |

As a matter of fact, yes I have. |
