| jettles | posted 10-Feb-2008 5:29am the beauty or impressiveness of the human body is it as a whole or it's workings as a whole. it is an amazing thing. each of its parts cannot be truly appreciated separately. such a strong, intricate, yet fragile "machine" or being! |

| Biggles | posted 10-Feb-2008 1:32pm Central and peripheral nervous systems, the immune system, the vocal cords and the hands. Though all parts of the body are pretty impressive, especially as you learn a little more about them. I've been dissecting a cadaver and I've been amazed at how different certain structures (such as the oesophagus) are from what I imagined. |

| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 11-Feb-2008 7:10am When are you leaving? Will you be staying for the night? Gigs start kinda late on Sundays.... If not, we'll grab a bite somewhere - trust me; we'll have fun! |
| Iseult | (reply to Irene007) posted 11-Feb-2008 8:19am We're leaving Thursday...
We can do a dinner on Saturday. Do you have any place in mind? |
| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 11-Feb-2008 10:05am On Saturday? Well that changes things! Tell me what kind of things you like; I mean type of restaurants, food etc...
If you're the informal type; there's always Smoked Meat Pete's and they always have good bands on Saturdays... Let me know; I'll root around! |
| Iseult | (reply to Irene007) posted 11-Feb-2008 11:06am I like anything... I don't like too much meat, though. And formal/informal... I like get dressed up, but I don't care.
What's your favourite place to go to? |
| romkey | posted 11-Feb-2008 11:31am I'm not really sure what you mean by "impressive". |
| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 11-Feb-2008 1:22pm Well Pete's is out then! I always feel rotten and guilty after I go there!! So much to do!! We can have dinner at any type of place - I do like St-Laurent Street because there are so many good restaurants there; Chao Phraya is authentic Thai food (not too much meat either!) http://www.chao-phraya.com/chaophraya/default.htm or there's Ristaurante Pesca that I just discovered and it's THE place for fish http://www.restaurants.com/World/WDetailPage.asp?R... - they just opened up so they don't have a web page yet. There was live entertainment when I went but I don't think that it's a usual event there but the food is delicious! If you like very fancy, there's a wonderful French restaurant downtow called Le Caveau. (They don't have a web page either - they don't need it!). How about authentic Lebanese? There's a good one in Ville St-Laurent and from there we could go to the Swing 88 Club - there's a real good band there Saturday night and they give free lessons from 8 to 9. - the band is Colin Perry and his Bluesicians http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=us.... Great band!! You tell me! Why am I getting the feeling that I'm butting on something that should be a tête-à-tête with your boyfriend? It is Valentine's Day this week isn't it? |
| Iseult | (reply to Irene007) posted 11-Feb-2008 4:12pm Don't worry about it. I talked to him already, and he says it's fine. We have plenty of time in Montreal.
I kind of hinted at first about Valentine's Day, and then I outright asked him what he was planning. The thing it, it's Thursday, and that's the day we're driving to Montreal. So I have no idea what he's planned. And he won't tell me. Why do you feel guilty about going to Pete's? |
| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 11-Feb-2008 4:32pm Because my trainer doesn't like it when I eat that kind of food; if he had his way - I'd only be allowed fruits! Besides, it does make me feel rather icky after I eat it - I've changed my diet so that kind of stuff sorta sits on my stomach now... But I still drink beer; only not every day like I used to!
So what's your poison? Thai, French, Lebanese, Japanese? |
| Iseult | (reply to Irene007) posted 12-Feb-2008 8:59am Thai.
Mostly. I like everything except Polish and German, but Polish has been growing on me lately. |
| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 12-Feb-2008 10:57am Oh I know a very good Polish restaurant on Prince Arthur! Just stay away from the tripe soup! Yuck! Why not have your friend call me and between the both of us; we can plan something that pleases everyone! |
| Iseult | (reply to Irene007) posted 12-Feb-2008 1:22pm Sure. I'll let him know. |

I'm packing tomorrow. Gotta clean my room, too. It's filthy. And wash my sheets. |
