No. I always think I'm gonna die. Always. I am. Eventually. I've never been so sick though. |

Three weeks? CRAP!
Try Five and one-half months! Two major operations during the second one I was "revived” afterwards I was not able to drink ANY fluids or consume any solids for over ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DAYS! I lay in bed with tubes pumping in and out all the fluids that my biological mechanism required to keep me alive. I was dead but I lived! TG! It was hell but now I know paradise!

I got pretty sick (from Crohn's Disease - digestive system problems), right before I had the first surgery to for it. It happened kind of gradually, and in my head I kept thinking I was getting better or was going to get better soon. I didn't really understand it all very well at the time. |

Not for 3 weeks duration, but yes for up to a week. I remember having scarlet fever as a kid and that was horrible. And about 20 years ago I had a bad ear infection and slept almost 24 hours a day for 4 days. |

I've been very ill, once for 5 months but I didn't think I was dying. It was a pain condition that my insurance was too cheap to treat properly. Humana is EVIL. My other illnesses caused me to be so miserable I WANTED to die. |

Yes to the survey question.... if you exclude the explanation.
I have never been able to eat and felt like I was dying.
I have only ever felt like I was dying when I was too sick to eat. Oh... and also, I was dying.... so that increased the feeling a bit. |

I don't know if I felt like I was dying but recently I have been having pains in my stomach off and on for a few months. Wasn't sure what it was, just thought it was menstrual cramps or really bad gas. Then I started throwing up with the pain. Then the second week of january of this year it got so bad and wouldn't go away so I went to the DR and he told me it was either kidney stones or a bladder infection. He didn't know so he gave me antibiotics and sent me home. Well a few days later it got so bad I couldn't take it any more so I went to the ER. There (after nine hours) they told me I had an STD called PID. I thought they wer crazy because I've been married for 18 years and couldn't possibly have an STD. So they sent me home with antibiotics also and told me to follow up with my regualar DR the next day. So I went to my regular DR and she said you don't have this but she didn't know what it was and told me to go see the OB/GYN upstairs. I sat in his chair for 5 minutes and he figured out the problem. I had a twisted cyst on my ovary the size of a grapefruit and i needed a total hysterectomy the next day. After this experience I have lost faith in doctors and especially the ER. But at least the pain is gone now and I'm recovering well. |
