Why not. Gas wouldn't be an issue because I would just siphon it from all the other cars. It would be more than enough to last me a lifetime. Hell, why stop at Ford. Give me a Hummer, or some sports car. Although then again you'd probably might want something quieter if you're trying to hunt deer.
As for plausibility, Will Smith makes for a crappy hunter. I mean its NfYC for crying out loud, with lots of TALL buildings. Its not like he couldn't just get on some higher floor and pick them off. To make the movie plausible, the sole survivor wouldn't be Will Smith from NY. It be some hill billy survivalist from Montana, and would actually know that driving really really really fast in a car that makes a lot of noise is not an effective method of deer hunting. |

Being the last woman on earth I would drive around in a Chevrolet not a Ford no way" and Ford is a junk heap" |

An electric car or truck for hunting deer sneak up on them they will never hear you ? |

A Ford sucks big time |

I'd have a Hummer for each day of the week. Except Sunday. Sunday would be my Mini Morris day. |

I'd drive around in many cars. They would start to dysfunction after about half a year, so I'd keep a good few on circulation. |

My end-of-the-world driving contract is with Chevy. |
romkey | | posted 19-Jan-2008 7:53am |
I doubt I'd be driving around at all. The world would lack the infrastructure necessary to keep automobiles running and to make gasoline, and I'm not skilled at either. If I were driving around I'd be happy to take what I could get... |

I'd probably drive around in my own car, which is a VW GTI. I don't know how to break into and hotwire cars, which would keep me from driving any other cars I found. Unless I happened to find an unlocked car with the keys in it. In that case, I would look for something that I would never drive otherwise, like maybe a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Unless I was worried about my safety, in which case I would look for a tank. |

What a great environment for me to teach myself to drive! I would try anything that I could get the keys for |

I would not drive, as i can't, or maybe I'd drive, i bet I could figure it out if my mom can do it. Maybe I'd find a book on driving first. Which on is the gas and which is the brake? I'll figure it out... |

Try Honda, Audi, Saab, or maybe Mazda, Subaru, Jeep.........
You definitely wouldn't catch me in a Ford, Chevy, Kia, etc. |

My husband is a Ford man. I, right now, am driving a Mercury Marqui...and I love it, an attractive, reliable car...don't have to give a tuneup until 100,000 miles. As long as I've been married, we've always had Fords, or Mercurys. I once bought a used Ford stationwagon for $425 in the late 60's. The interior was impeccable, the motor was excellent, couldn't hear the engine, it was so quiet....a very reliable car. We drove it for many years, until some girl on drugs rammed it during the night...totaled it. |

i would prolly go from car to car and find the one w/ the most gas, so it could be a ford, or a fnord...your choice |

I'd drive something and wouldn't be car if I was in that situation. |

I will always own Mercury vehicles. I used to have a Cougar. Now I have a Mountaineer. I like the Marauder and the Montego. Nice! I was just admiring someone's Grand Marquis today. lol |

Yea it is entirely plausible that Ford had a financial interest in the movie and that is why Will Smith was filmed driving a ford vehicle, so astute of you to figure that out.

Have you driven a Ford *lately*? Then you'd know that they are the best for outpacing a zombie horde. |

I agree with you Lahdee...Mercurys are very reliable, and attractive....I like their complete line of vehicles. |

Zombie hordes are scarce where I live. It's the vampire infestation up here that grinds my gears... |

I wouldn't be driving a Ford. A Ferrari maybe. Of course, after awhile you wouldn't be driving anything since gasoline breaks down and is useless in time. |

I'd drive many kinds of cars including a Ford. Ford is a sentimental favorite. My whole works or is retired from Ford, but I wouldn't pass up driving around in a cute Mini. |
