i probably know some of them but definitely not all of them. i don't really ski. |

I don't go skiing, but judging from the explanation I'd say that there's a danger that you risk death in some way... possibly by avalanche. |

No - do not ski. I don't think I would like that at all. I might like sitting down in one of those little round sled things though. |

Some of them, at least. I would think that the distance from other people who might be able to help if something happened to you would be the biggest danger. You could also get lost, and there are more likely to be dangerous wild animals the farther you get from civilization. You're not using trails that someone has checked for safety, either. |

I know that skiing is one of the more dangerous sports that you can do - with a fairly high risk of causing permanent damage if you are injured. |

I guess so but never have done either and never will. |

I said yes even though I have never done it. I have seen lots of video footage and I can understand very well why some have died. |

I so don't want to sound like an uncaring bafoon, BUT these are the dangers that are known when an undertaking (pardon the pun) in this type of endeavor is taken. |

No. However, I don't do any snow sports so I don't really need to know any of it. |

Funny how it is that people will risk life and limb for the ultimate thrill of their lives and lose everything including
their lives all for dangerous backcountry skiing
Do they truly care about those they leave behind makes me wonder and these kinds of
people have to be mentally insane to do such a thing |

They may as well just have their death certificate signed before they leave for the backcountry
and do they really have any brains at all skiing in an avalanche area how dumb can they be icurok ? |
| Pomeranian | | posted 21-Jan-2008 4:47am |
I do, which is why I don't backcountry ski. |
llamamama | | posted 21-Jan-2008 3:28pm |
I think reading your description told us the dangers.
Nah, death isn't that bad..
But yes, I did know.. |

I suspect I know more than average from my experience with wilderness camping and travel but hardly everything. |
