Ummmmm NO. I barely had the money for Christmas this year. If I bought a gift this early for someone I would....a) Forget where I put it by the time Christmas rolled around or b) I wouldn't be able to wait to give it to the intended person or c) I would end up using the item for myself.

Besides, isn't there an unwritten rule that you can't start Christmas shopping until Dec 1st? Maybe that's just my family*wry smile*

I have one thing. It's a Christmas-themed item that was on sale after Christmas, and I'll give it to my mom next Christmas.

Wow does no one else do Boxing Day Sale shopping? Gosh. I bought decorations, Chrissie earrings, wrap, curling ribbon, tinsel and a wreath for 75% off. (Actually, the earrings were only 50% off) I find if you get into the habit of 're-stocking' every year after Christmas, it saves so much $$! Then you don't end up paying Christmas off*yes*

We don't have enough storage space around here to keep stuff around for a year.

I promise I will not look and besides my storage buildings are buried in snow 10 foot deep and no chance of getting
out there until maybe Summer gets here

Yes, I have. Christmas decorations make great gifts to those who like to decorate. The stores are practically giving that stuff away in January.

That is what I have been doing for the past 20 years. I buy gifts when they are on sale or very interesting...the perfect gift for someone. It doesn't matter when during the year it is. The problem is finding it at the end of December, or not giving it to them sooner, or no longer wanting to give that person a gift. This cannot be done with electronics, they can be obsolete and lame within a few months.

One year, it was in the fall, I bought my sister a Big Mouth Bass when they were brand new. I thought it was delightfully tacky but by the time Christmas rolled around, everyone was sick of them everywhere you turned around was that dumbass fish singing, every grocery store, every store in the mall, gas stations.... So, to as not waste a fine gift, I was able to find a singing trout, a different singing bass, there was a singing cat fish...I found 7 different kinds of singing fishes, crawdads, lobster andwhatnot and wrapped them all up. It turned out to be a blast. She hung them all on the wall going down to the basement so when you walked down the steps, the 'automatic eye' got them all going.
