No. If I were to guess, I'd say women are slightly more favored. Men and women officers both are more likely to be skeptical of the man in the situation. If anyone knows crime, it's a cop. They know men are usually the perpetrators in domestic issues where cops have to intervene. |

Depends on the man's conscience. |

Cops tend to stick together, whether they are male or female.
If I could make head or tails of the explanation, I might have been able to be more help. |
ausfox | | posted 15-Dec-2007 12:59am |
I think that sometimes this is true, but it depends on the individual, I don't know that it is a male/female thing |

Not anymore than women side with other women. |

I'm required to answer this with "no".
It's one of the stipulations of being a member of the Old Boy's Club®. |

Generally, jerks stand up for jerks, neanderthals stick up for neanderthals, gentlemen stick up for gentle men, so yes, in a way that is correct. But a jerk will not stand up for a neanderthal, and a gentleman will not stand up for a jerk, but sometimes, just sometimes...when a police officer is just doing his job, and there is no clear cut evidence of who is right or wrong, they will take the easy way out and what I have noticed is generally speaking and this is just a small portion of what I have noticed in my limited experiences is most of the time the police officer will sway towards the male point of view but not all the time I have seen and have had the experience of the male policman being on the side of the woman. I hope that answers your question. |

So as a member of the womens league for making the world a better and saner place, I am required by the laws of our statutes to interpret what your real answer is. You said >I'm required to answer this with "no".
So your answer is "yes" for the rest of us people here on earth. |
jettles | | posted 15-Dec-2007 9:38am |
not really, more often than not when the cops show up the woman won't press charges and then the cops can't do anything or if they press charges and then later drop them. |

Given that I'm also a member of the Women are Always Right Association, I would have to agree with that. |

I don't really know. I'm not entirely clear on what kind of situation you're talking about here. My first hunch is to say that in some kind of criminal situation, the cop would be more likely to take the woman's side. I don't think it's simply about solidarity, but also that statistically, there are more male than female criminals, so the cop would be more likely to assume the man was guilty. Also, I think men are wired to want to help out women and not men. However, if the man were to get the short end of the stick, I'm sure all his male friends would commiserate and take his side to vilify the woman. |

Some do some don't, I personally think it's the pathetic low life ones that do most. |

No. In my experience, most men tend to stand up for women more than they do men. |

Someone has a gender issue! Yea what you described does take place, but I would suggest that Women are as guilty if not MORE than men for this behavior. Besides your question (poorly worded I might add) states that the woman got into trouble with the man, not the other way around, if the male policeman “legally” resolved the problem in the mans favor then I propose that the woman WAS wrong! |

Yes, I agree. |

I think that some men do. Some women do as well. I don't think you can generalize to all people. |
JessicaWoman99 | | posted 16-Dec-2007 2:43pm |
Yes men really and truly do stick up for their own kind as I have found out , this man he was causing road rage
with me and i flag down the State Police he was male
That cop gave chase and he caught this guy pulled him over and meanwhile at the police station
sounded like the cop believed his story instead of mine, yes the cop was on his side
and that guy he was going to press charges against me for going slow
I was doing the speed limit 35 to 40 before i got to the 55 mph speed limit sign
And then the speed limit is 55 and I was going 55 not 35
he was mad at me and saying he wanted to kill that dog |

See your taking sides with them and this man he was tailgating my car and flashing his lights at me and he turns
around saying it was all my fault and the male officer agreed with him
and saying i was driving to slow going 40 mph in a 40 zone before the speed limit jumped to 55 and then I was
going 55 in a 55 shame on you |

Women are from Venus, And Men are from Mars…what can I say? |
| southernyankee | | posted 16-Dec-2007 10:39pm |
um, no. I highly doubt it. If anything the reverse would be true.
Especially with domestic abuse cases, although they're starting to just throw both parties in jail and sort it out later. |
| southernyankee |
Sorry, but I got to call you on your bullcrap.
Generally male cops if anything would take the woman's side, but that may be slowly changing over time. If a cop would take the man's word over the woman's its probably because she was either being a dog about it or it was obvious she was in the wrong but would act like she is never wrong. My guess is that you really were in the wrong and you probably are only giving your side of the story to us and leaving something out. Unless you have witnesses to back you up I don't know what to tell you. Perhaps he had witnesses on his side or something else going for him that you don't know about. |

Some men might, certainly not all of them. I think it's probably better now than at any other time in history though, and the real problem is attitudes that are hanging on from earlier times. |
