Saddened, but not pissed off. The way I heard it explained, the teddy bear is considered an "idol." I can understand why some people would be offended by naming it Muhammed, but I think it's sad that it went this far. They should understand that she made an innocent mistake.

I first heard of this situation this morning and I was shocked! The fact that she had already been released circumvented and muted my reaction, otherwise “pissed” I would have been! There so much wrong with this picture I do not even know how to begin to respond! One thing that comes to mind is the loss of their teacher for the young pupils. I am renewed in my appreciation of the freedom of rights in the USA. I am surprised that the British Embassy did not react faster. I am glad she is out of that “less-than-enlightened” country. From what I have read and heard on the radio this morning she was “Brave” and handled herself with dignity and grace. |

Yes, I was pissed off at how she was treated. She didn't even name the teddy bear herself. One of her students, a little boy whose name is Muhammad, asked that the teddy bear be named after him. Granted the Sudanese president gave her a full pardon, but Sudanese Muslim hardliners were completely against that. |

Yes, I'm pissed off about the way she was treated. People go WAY overboard sometimes, just like they do in America. They just overdo it and lean too far the other way. This is a culture-clash thing and she should just be given a warning. |

At least they gave her a pardon in the end.
I think we should send them a batch of these in gratitude

Dogma makes people crazy.
Crap like this explains why I'm an Atheist. Islam, Christianity, Judaism, it's all the same irrational crap. |

Any country that would choose to punish a non-citizen rather than simply deport them is petty, brutal and vengeful. |

I'm not pissed off about it.
She's already been released.
Of course it's dreadfully stupid. It does make me consider how far I should really go in attempting to respect other people's cultures... every day I respect them less. |

We saw this, this morning in mass media class..
I'm not pissed. I mean, I think it's dumb how she was treated..but my emotions don't even begin to reach that of being pissed. |

I hadn't heard about this until now. It seems like they are taking things a little too far. I mean, it's a freaking teddy bear and a name. But, they have laws that everyone is expected to go by. If she couldn't follow the laws, no matter how out there, she shouldn't have been there. |

I used to try to respect sincerely religious people. That has largely gone. Religion is a barbarism that we can not afford. |

I am pissed off because of 1) what radical Islam is doing, 2) that no one is standing up to radical Islam. Clinton had it right when he sent troops to Somalia.

No, I am not pissed off, however... I did name a pair of my undershorts Muhammad |

I am not "pissed off". I do think it's silly that she was arrested. I also think that people living in countries other than their own should educate themselves about the local culture. |

Of course, it's an absolute joke. Thankfully she's been released and is now back in the UK. |

I really dislike the way she was treated. I don't know anything about this woman, so I can't really judge her character and her motives, but somebody who chooses to come to a war-torn country like a Sudan, so she could help out by teaching the kids, and this is the way they repay her? |

I think, without a doubt this is absurd. I feel the Muslim world have a serious problem with esteem...they have none. Because if they did, they could "turn the other cheek". I know here in the U.S. I see a serious problem on the horizon with the Muslims. Ismael will forever be angry he wasn't given the "birthright" by God. Islam in their treatment of women, is a sure sign it is not God's Word, or it's their interpretation. God says man is to treat his wife with respect, and love. Women are to treat their husband with the same, and be in submission. The problem is many men and women misinterpret this word. It means, since there can be only one head in the family, and the man is the headship, the woman should be submissive.. BUT before making decisions that will affect the family, besides his using his good judgment, he is to counsel with his wife, they are a working partnership. Men and women are to be humble.
I feel a REAL man doesn't have to beat his wife into submission, as the Muslim man feels. If a woman is a REAL woman, she'd be smart and know the right thing to do for the family. It's a mutual respect for each other.
I surely hope the government does something about this absurdity. But what can you expect, going into a country of less civility? |

It's the 21st century and people still believe in God. THAT is what's absurd. |

Frostbrand, I believe there will be a big turn back towards God's Word....which will be the one thing that will turn this country back to sanity...peoples eyes will be opened. The world is in the clutches of Satan right now....he is the god of this world. Things will be better one day, but there will be a lot of turmoil in the meantime, in the fight with the evil one....but we'll win, without a doubt. |
