Mexican Spanish I'd say; but then I imagine there are dialects to consider. |

I've used both Mexican & Spanish, but I probably use Spanish more. |

A Mexican version of Spanish. Like Britain and Australia, and the USA speak a different versions of English. |

Spanish.
I take it that Spanish (from Spain) people might take offense to that, but who cares. |

I think that most people in Mexico speak Spanish, but in addition to that are many people in remote regions of the country who speak the native indigenous languages of their regions, languages that were probably spoken long before the Spanish conquerors came along and introduced Spanish. |

Spanish. If someone pressed and asked what dialect of Spanish, then I would say Mexican Spanish (I'm guessing that's what it's called). |

Is there a story behind this survey? |
romkey |
Nope! Just wondering... |
Enheduanna | | (reply to romkey) posted 4-Nov-2007 7:55pm |
It sounded like the kind of survey that might have had a discussion of some kind behind it, especially since it seems like a departure from the kinds of surveys you usually make. |

Spanish. Caleb says they speak Mexican. |

I say Spanish most of the time but I am sure I have said Mexican before when I was trying to differentiate between Mexico's Spanish and other countries that speak a form of Spanish. |
| BenSimpleton72 | | posted 4-Nov-2007 10:52pm |
I say Mexican.. If you talk to someone from Spain it's a hell of alot different then some one from Mexico. |
romkey |
I don't think it did... I think I was just imagining that people were stupider than they really are... |

Actually, according to my daughter-in-law who is from Ecuador and speaks "real" Spanish the Mexicans speak a bastardized slang version of Spanish. The Mexicans in town have a hard time understanding what she says in Spanish since the Mex's don't know the real language. So my answer is "Mexican". |
| mrmarm |
Depends of what area of Mexico, however I expect all of the optionalised languages to be spoken. |

I've often wondered about that. I work in a call center with a bilingual department. I don't know anyone who works in that department, so I've never been able to ask about it. There are so many different versions of spanish... Would it be difficult for people to understand the people who work in customer service or vice versa?
When I'm walking through the department it always tickles me to hear english words mixed into the spanish.... Spanish spanish spanish spanish spanish PURCHASE ORDER spanish spanish spanish spanish spanish spanish spanish.
