Yes, the purported haunting in the link (South Eugene High School).
The Bijou Theater, which shows mostly indie movies, is also purported to be haunted. It was once a funeral home... http://www.nwpprs.com/Investigations/Places03/BIJO...
Also in Lane County, but closer to Florence, Oregon is Heceta Head Lighthouse which is supposed to be haunted by The Lady in Gray, aka Rue... http://www.romantic-oregon-coast.com/haunted-light...
There are other purportedly haunted lighthouses in Oregon, but they aren't in Lane County (see link above for more spooky lighthouses).

Only one I can think of is Studio 17.
I have seen ghosts up in No. California, but LA,CA doesn't seem to be the place for them. |

I'm not sure about haunted houses, but the house of Anton LaVey, who founded the Church of Satan, is in my neighborhood. |

Not close by, but Pacheco Pass is haunted by the ghosts of Indians and the Sunnyvale Toys 'R Us is haunted by a ghost. |

Not that I know of, but there was this house that my friend would take me too this summer and it looked abandoned, and she was all freaked out about getting too close. Then again, they've started repainting it so probably not. I think my mind is haunted. |

Your presence caught my attention more than any other, with thoughts that I should yak. The name is unfamiliar though. Do I know you by another name? I do recall that someone here had an interest in Dark Shadows. I'm scheduled for getting a Dark Shadows netflix dvd this week. Cool video in your profile as well as the castle avatar. |

I live in a Civil War town....the stories are endless. |

I'm Kate (formerly wolf359), so you know me pretty well. I changed my user name recently, but I've always been a DS fan. The gif in my user profile is Josette's ghost, my avatar is the Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House, which is located on the south side of Skinner's Butte & is known locally as "The Castle on the Hill"... http://www.smjhouse.org
I have Dark Shadows on my Netflix queue too, but it will be awhile before I get them. I've got Dark Shadows: The Beginning set on there. They contain the pre-Barnabas episodes which I've never had the opportunity to see. Unfortunately, they are on a "very long wait" status.
You'll also probably remember me as one of the few other people at SC who've seen & enjoy "Phantom of the Paradise". |
Kristal_Rose |
I've never seen the show yet, though it does look good. Netflix must operate with smaller inventory, or even branch borrowed inventory up there. In LA I've never had to wait for anything unless it simply wasn't out on dvd yet. I've got an LP of music from the show with some fantastic seaside vampire surf rock.
Quite a classic the Paradise was. That one lies very deep with me for some reason, along with things like The Man Who Fell to Earth.
They don't have very good photos. Queen Annes are my favorite and I hope to build or at least own one some day. |

I watched DS almost daily when I was younger, but missed most of the last season plus part of the previous one because they changed the air time from 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. I think the long wait is because the pre-Barnabas episodes just came out very recently on DVD for the first time. The other box sets (1-26) each have 40 episodes on 4 discs, plus interviews, in addition to the DS Revival series that came out in the early 1990s (1 box set, 3 disks, 12 episodes). The Revival series was prempted so often by coverage of the Gulf War that eventually it was cancelled after only the original 12 episodes. However, I don't have to get those through Netflix because our local library has them all. I wish they would get around to ordering the pre-Barnabas episodes so I wouldn't have to wait on Netflix. The good news is that Johnny Depp, who has had a life long fascination with the original DS series & often fantasized about being Barnabas Collins as a child has acquired the rights to make a new version of the show from the estate of Dan Curtis, the show's creator.
BTW-do you like surfer punk music? I'm fond of a group called Agent Orange and first heard their music in a vampire movie called "Pale Blood".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkUa0N8-wl8 The first song, "So Strange" was performed by the group in "Pale Blood".
I haven't seen "The Man Who Fell to Earth" in quite a few years, but it made an impression on me the first time I saw it. |
Kristal_Rose |
Agent Orange doesn't quite do it for me, though it sure sounds a lot like shows I watched in HS. I've never noticed a jazz progression used for garage thrash before, but perhaps that's what my HS surf-punk bands were doing.
Dang, that's a lot of episodes. It makes me wonder how I missed them all. 10am, that's about when The Ghost and Mrs Muir ran, which I must have only been able to see on days I was sick from school, I guess.
I guess stuff I listen to now is more like techno-folk, Mia Doi Todd, the Ditty-Bops, and exploring things I missed like Leo Kottke. Generally I'm looking for a sweet quirky mood, experimental nature, and advanced musicianship. |

An old German cemetery down a gravel road on the edge of town, but I never saw or heard anything. |

Yes, where I grew up was on of the top haunted areas. Bachelor's Grove. I got a few good stories about that place. Just down the road is a ghost that walks down the street. I haven't seen her, but I know people that have.
There are a couple of local areas, where I am at now. There is a corner where sometimes if the wind is just right...I saw a body hanging from a rope off the tree. I looked again it was gone. I asked a buddy who lived down a few houses what was up with that corner, and he said a long time ago, they hung blacks there. my area was part of the underground railroad, very rich in history. The bar I would frequent is haunted. He has pushed people off of the stools. No... well yeah, they were drunk, but these guys are proffesional drunks. They don't just fall off their stools. It was the previous owner I was told. the restaurant over one block is haunted. Lots of stories about that place.
I used to walk my dogs down this one street, and every time we came around the bend this icey chill would penetrate my bones. Even if it was hot and humid out. But only at night. I don't ever assume it is haunted, I like to do research, and verify before I ever say anything. |

Yes, there is a lane that is supposed to be haunted, but I can't give the name of the lane or say what is supposed to haunt it without giving away exactly where I live. |
