What's the coolest Halloween costume you ever saw?

Someone dressed as Santa Claus

In Toronto walking down Yonge St, a giant Darth Vadar (this was years ago) complete with the breathing noise and flowing cape. It was great.

Back when my son was a little over 2 years old, I was babysitting on Halloween night for my neighbor's son, who was about the same age as Quincy. The evening had been going smoothly, the two little boys were enjoying seeing all the people in costumes & helping me pass out the candy when a young man showed up in the most realistic gorilla costume I've ever seen. Scared the living crap out of the boys, who promptly hid behind the loveseat & wouldn't come out until I reassured them enough that the "monster" had gone away & wouldn't hurt them.

Probably the one I wore years ago when I lived in another state that sort of celebrated the occasion, I wore a grim reaper's outfit, overly original as THEY are.

Not sure, but one halloween, I went as a buns of steel lady, I wore tights and a leotard, got some hot dog buns and painted them silver, and carried a video around saying buns of steel.

Not necessarily the coolest, but the most effective: one year we got very few trick-or-treaters, so when the doorbell rang, I wasn't thinking in terms of Halloween. So when I opened the door and saw the Grim Reaper standing there, I was taken aback for a second, until I realized (a) it was a very short Grim Reaper, and (b) it was just a Halloween costume.

Nothing comes to mind, I haven't yet had any cool Halloween costumes yet, i'm gonna actually try to be scray this year, for once.

Can you describe it? Was the string her legs.... or was it coming out of her head? Was it obvious she was a tampon?

I just saw a picture of it once. I don't recall specifics very well. It was red on top and vaguely a white cynlinder otherwise. I don't recall the string, but I bet she had that. I think it was more of a prop, though. not her leg. I think her legs were inside the cynlinder mostly.

A guy had mini boxes of cereal taped to his chest with plastic knives sticking out and fake blood. A sign around his neck said "Cereal Killer". Ha!

a few years ago, my partner and i went to a halloween party that was themed- dead celebrities or those that should be- and we went dressed as george bush and the bill of rights.

I can't recall any one in particular because I've seen lots of good costumes, but I think rather than Halloween, the costumes that most stick out in my mind are the ones people wear to a huge footrace we have here each spring called "Bay to Breakers," about a 7-mile run. Except that many people wear really unique costumes while they make their way along the route. I like the group ones, several people making up one costume, like a caterpillar.

In Alaska, a "cool" costume would be one that doesn't cover the legs.

The coolest Halloween costume I ever saw was on someone else and it was a woman wearing only blue body paint as Mystique (Rebecca Romijn). Not only was it cool to have a naked attractive lady at the party but her painted-on costume was a work of exquisite detail and didn’t hide as much (on the top) as her movie made counterpart.

Her boyfriend was dressed as Magneto.

I was a banshee once in high school. It was awesome. I got my picture in the year book for it.

I don't know, there really is no 'coolest'. I have seen too many awesome nes,, although come to think of it, I knew this guy, he is 100% American Indian and he was dressed as...yes...an Indian and his girlfriend was dressed as a prarie girl who had gotten scalped. The Indian was holding a piece of her scalp-complete with blood and bone, and she was sicknigly realistic-missing a piece of her scalp with blood and bone. She was the best make up doer upper I have ever seen.
