When you die do you want ................

I want to be cremated. I understand it's important for some people to be able to see the body so I might go for that also, before I'm cremated. I think I'd just want my ashes spread somewhere.

Gross, ah I'd like to first donate body parts so in an odd morbid sort of way I'll be sort of living on, but I'd prefer afterwards to be cremated and possibly threw to the sea or to a loved one, maybe not that last one that's a bit creepy and weird.

I can honestly say that idea never entered my mind.

I'm going with science. Well, I can have a wake first, then they can do whatever. If I'm gonna die, I'm going to do it and benefit others in the process.

I'd like to have as many of my organs and tissues as possible harvested for donor transplantation. If there was going to be much left, I'd consider donating my body for research (although I may change my mind after I start dissection classes next week) - there's some really amazing work going on, and I've been particularly impressed by the use of cadavers as crash test dummies. After that, I'd like the remaining disassembled mush to be freeze-dried and shaken down into powder according to a new technique. That powder could then be scattered anywhere my relatives wished. If the freeze-drying isn't available here by the time that I die, I'd opt to be cremated.

Obviously all of this is hypothetical - it would be up to my next of kin, seeing as I would be dead.

Closed casket, some books to be buried with me, a decent casket but I want the most money and effort to go into my headstone. I want something that really stands out.

Can't you stipulate in your will what you want to have done?

I'm sure I could, but they could easily go against my wishes. And anything that happens to my body after I die isn't for me anyway - it's for them, and if the thought of me being cut up or freeze-dried was difficult for them to deal with then better that they choose an alternative that they are more comfortable with.

Open casket is morbid. I've found that most times, I only look out of curiousity. So if I usually just stay away from that.

& sometimes some SC users like the [PICK] option rather than a essay. Least I do. I usually hate essays myslef.
& then too I like to read the options given just to see how creative an SC user can be.
