Have you ever tried to pass of the "almost smile" as real?

Have you ever been embarrassed or angry in front of others but tried to project "a smile" in the situation? That "smile" that feels almost revealing to the fact that you don't really mean "a smile"?

16Yes, I have been in this precise situation.
4Yes, but not exactly as described in the question (please explain):
5No, not ever.
2I don't give off a pretense in any way, ever.
2This is good. No really, it's great - even though the answer I need isn't here, this is just wonderful [OTHER]:

Yes, I've done this before. I'm sure it pretty much never works.

I do this when I am mad, and say nothing is wrong, with a purposeful fake smile

Yes - this is my standard response when I am angry, annoyed or hurt (physically or emotionally). I think I usually carry it off pretty well though, so I don't think that my true feelings are being revealed.

Yeah. I'm probably convincing if I am able to do it, but it's hard to smile then, and that's the problem.

I don't really have a smile, that indicates I'm happy, but more find something ridiculous, or funny or ridiculously funny, if you get what I mean.

I'm not sure, but I have had a situation where I did a real sarcastic smile at my sister during an argument, and she smiled sweet back to me thinking that the argument was over. It had to be after that.

Yes, but I know I'm not fooling anyone and I know that they know that as soon as I can be alone I'm going to be crying or swearing and punching the wall.

I was only thinking of embarrassment before. I don't remember ever doing this with anger. I don't like to play like I'm not upset when I really am. I more often like to play like I am upset when I am not. * evil smile *
