| Melf | posted 1-Sep-2007 3:47am Yes, but I can't remember the name of it. They were these biscuit/cookie type things, a nice beigey brown colour, about 1" diameter. I think they had chocolate chips in them. |
| dab | posted 1-Sep-2007 7:29am Rideout's molasses donuts. I don't know that they're no longer made but I haven't been able to find any for over ten years. |

| Galomorro | posted 1-Sep-2007 11:24am Certain types of educational software used to be cheaper and easier to find than last time I looked for it. They got bought out by another company and I didn't much care for their Website descrips nor their customer service rep. I think they're now called Clearvue. I guess it's still available to a certain extent but not as easily found and maybe not as many titles as before. Another thing would be those big computer shows that were FREE to wander around in -- now I think they all charge admission just for the exhibits. They'd also have a good selection of FREE stuff like magazines you could grab to take home, and CHEAP software, like individual CDs. Now everything in these shows seems to be geared towards people with plenty of bucks to throw around. |
| romkey | posted 1-Sep-2007 12:20pm I had this thing for beige (Rubbermaid calls them "Almond") Rubbermaid pitchers, mostly because I grew up with them. I wanted them for making iced tea in. I had a few but they've been breaking over the last few years and it doesn't seem possible to get them anymore, so I've finally given up on the beige Rubbermaid pitchers of my childhood and moved on. |
| Iseult | posted 1-Sep-2007 12:39pm Yes.
It was this hair mousse by Charles Worthington. It made my hair silky and gave it volume without frizzying it up. Unfortunately, they pulled the whole line out of production and replaced it with one in which I don't like anything. I had a conditioner from their new line and it was crap. I used it up and went back to Pantene. I miss the old Charles Worthington. |
| LindaH | posted 1-Sep-2007 1:56pm A few of them. Sunkist mini mints rocked! |
| gambler | posted 1-Sep-2007 5:52pm Not that I recall......... but chocolate bars always seemed bigger years ago, (as well as bags of potato chips) maybe because I was smaller? |
| RGirl | posted 1-Sep-2007 7:08pm I was just thinking this but I can't remember what it is. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 2-Sep-2007 9:44am Well it is occasionally made but hard to find.... Beeman's Gum, and Clove Gum... |
| Sparky5115 | posted 3-Sep-2007 7:20am TAB, Hamburger helper, Chickadee chicken flavoured chips, Fathers favourite sauce, Malt extract. |
| MacGregor | posted 3-Sep-2007 10:03pm I used to love the Vanilla Oatmeal and Pecan Oatmeal from Quaker Oats and I can't find them anymore. Grrr..... Almond Delight Cereal was awesome. As was the original Smores cereal. (Obviously I get very attached to my breakfast! |
| MacGregor | (reply to bill) posted 3-Sep-2007 10:04pm I was at a party in the early 80s and saw a guy get hit in the arm with a lawn dart. It hit a major blood vessel and blood was everywhere. That's probably why you can't find them anymore! |
| bill | (reply to MacGregor) posted 4-Sep-2007 6:44am is it wrong for me to laugh at that? |
| cerealkiller | posted 4-Sep-2007 4:41pm Not really a product but I miss when Taco Bells served breakfast. I ate the double bacon and egg burritos all the time. Some now serve breakfast again but the menu is different. |
| cerealkiller | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 4-Sep-2007 4:42pm > The original Fizzies, made with sugar, not Spenda.
> PDQ (chocolate crystals that dissolved in milk) > Quench (a citrus soft drink that's better that > Squirt) > Milkshake candy bar (it was like eating a chocolate > malted milkshake) > I still see Milkshake candy bars around here occasionally. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 5-Sep-2007 12:50am Really? I can't find them anywhere here. When they were still available, the only places I could find them were either at Woolworth's or Newberry's. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to romkey) posted 5-Sep-2007 12:51am I have one of those in the gallon size. I got it at a garage sale for 50¢ a few years ago & it's still going strong. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Sparky5115) posted 5-Sep-2007 12:52am Hamburger Helper is still very much around. In fact, I just make up a batch of it a few days ago & finished off the last of it for dinner tonight. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to gambler) posted 5-Sep-2007 12:54am It's not because you've got bigger. Bags of potato chips & candy bars are definitely smaller than they used to be, but their prices certainly haven't gone down. |
| cabinfever | posted 5-Sep-2007 3:26am Yeah... the shampoo that Revlon put out for a while called 'Outrageous'. Cindy Crawford was the hair model for them. Loved that stuff. |
| cabinfever | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:29am I certainly have to agree with you on that, Kate. |
| cabinfever | (reply to bill) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:31am What do you mean, lawn darts? The ones I'm thinking of are still available.

| cabinfever | (reply to romkey) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:34am Are you talking about the ones that were sold in the late 70s? The ones I remember had a slightly rough, pebbly surface, a pour spout, and the type of lid that had the 'button' on top that you pushed to 'seal' the pitcher. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to cabinfever) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:45am I often find that a dead giveaway is when a package says "new & improved". The package will often be the same size, but there will be less inside. A good example is a can of coffee. Years ago, they started putting less in the 3 lb size can of coffee, but didn't make the can smaller. Unless you read the label, you'd still think you're getting 3 lbs of coffee. A neighbor of mine learned this the hard way when she started running out of coffee faster than usual, even though she hadn't increase her coffee consumption. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to cabinfever) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:46am I think that's Tupperware, not Rubbermaid. I have a pitcher just like you described. |
| cabinfever | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:46am Sneaky bastards, the lot of them. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to cabinfever) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:47am Exactly! Let's hang them up by their little toes & let a giraffe lick the bottoms of their feet until they go insane. |
| cabinfever | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:48am Oh... didn't know that. This is the one I was describing. Found it right away under 'Tupperware pitcher' in Google image search. No wonder I couldn't find it using 'Rubbermaid pitcher'.

| cabinfever | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:50am Now that is a visual!! With their long tongue, giraffes would be able to wrap it around their feet and legs... popsicles, anyone? |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to cabinfever) posted 5-Sep-2007 3:54am I've got one exactly like that, but it's in a lighter color, more an almond or pale beige. I've also got the gallon size Rubbermaid pitcher in the almond color as well (the one I mentioned to romkey). Both acquired for 50¢ each at 2 different garage sales. |

| bill | (reply to cabinfever) posted 5-Sep-2007 5:34am On December 19, 1988, all lawn darts were banned from sale in the United States by the Consumer Product Safety Commission[1]. Shortly after, in 1989, they were also banned in Canada.[2]

PDQ (chocolate crystals that dissolved in milk)
Quench (a citrus soft drink that's better that Squirt)
Milkshake candy bar (it was like eating a chocolate malted milkshake)
