Yes and I didn't realize how much I'd missed the sound until I moved back to Springfield from Portland. I heard plenty of traffic noises in Portland, but no train whistles. The first night back in Springfield I heard the train whistle & knew I was back home again.

I prefer the smell, I love the way unidentifiable and always at train stations, I haven't been to one for years however.

My job is located right next to a train track. We hear the train go through a couple of times every day. I've even had people I was on the phone with comment that they can hear it. The building shakes when it goes by.
I like it...it's so, so, ...

Yes, very much so. And how kind of you to allow me to share more... I have always lived near a train and I love to hear the whistle. Except for that one house that had the tracks just on the other side of the street. That was a little rough.

haunting? Deep? Something about a long tunnel and a light at the end?

I love hearing a train whistle! I have a friend, who owns a cabin up north, and it is about 700 steps away from the railroad tracks, and I love to hear the train go by.

I guess so. I don't like the sound of the big engines when they go by, though. They're so loud, they scare me!

Naw, it's more of a small town thing. Like in Footloose or something. Coming from Philadelphia, I kind of appreciate that.
The train, by the way, is a freight train, not a commuter train. Although, I've heard from some people that the circus train comes through. That would be cool to see.

I was at a music festival a couple of weeks ago and the main stage was next to a train bridge above. Half way through one of the band's sets a train going over stopped and the driver opened his door and stood watching for ten minutes or so. I thought that was pretty cool. And potentially dangerous.

Yes, especially when I was a kid I used to love the sound.

Trains don't whistle. They have loud, blaring air horns.

Fealix you would just love the train station over in Granby 30 miles from here, the trains pass through Granby and
Kremmling on the way to Glenwood Springs just off interstate 70? That cuts through the mountains of Colorado
Utah and all the way to California, and Glenwood Springs is close to Aspen Colorado where the wealthy and
famous people live Movie Stars? former President Jerald Ford who passed away he had a home near Vail?

The trains come up here from Denver through the Moffatt Tunnel under the Continental Divide under these huge
mountains 1. Winter Park and Fraser 2. Granby 3. Hot Sulphur Springs where I work? 4. Parshal then on the way
here to Kremmling and I hear the trains right now as they come by sounds like an earthquake
they rumble on by
But you would really love living here in Kremmling Fealix just as good as it can be except for religious bigots
that poke their nose where it does not belong you would love it here

People could spend days on the same train and have a complete tour around America, around where I live surprising their aren't many religious people, more nemo teens and the stereotypical 'Aussie' as I hate to say, Whose philosophy is to grab a beer and marry their cousins.

Yes here in America on Amtrac passenger trains that travel from coast to coast, from Washington D.C. all the
way to >> California?
I get to see Amtrac go by as I am driving to work the trains run along side of the Highway and I am just looking
over at the train as it goes by and I try to drive faster than the train is going
But yes so cool to watch those trains go by
and the speed limit on the Highway is 65 and the trains go about 60mph?
