Unfortunately yes, must of the time I get way ahead of myself and am crushed when I realized what's REALLY happening. |

No, go to sleep with a clear conscious at the end of the day...and that is happiness to me. |
LindaH | | posted 16-Aug-2007 2:25am |
No!!!!! It's easy as pie. It's a personal choice. I have no problem living a happy life.
Now I'm curious, is it happy to be hard? |
Melf | | posted 16-Aug-2007 2:32am |
Yes. |
| ausfox | | posted 16-Aug-2007 3:17am |
No, it's a state of mind |

No. It's easy.
It is hard to get rid of those nagging feelings of guilt for not being caught up on bills.. that's the only thing I struggle with. |

not at all! |

a guru once told me that it's not... and, I agree. It takes work for us to convince ourselves life is bad |

I find I am happy most of the time without any effort on my part. |

Not for me. Apparently it is for some people, though. |

If you make yourself unhappy, it only goes to prove that you can make yourself happy!
Most people don't try to make themselves happy because they always worry and look to the negatives. How many people, when depressed, suddenly let positive feelings overwhelm them? Not many. But the opposite? Loads |

You have to ask? It's extremely hard. |

I'm not sure at this point if my being happy isn't an illusion. I don't recall ever really being happy, so how do I know what to guage it to. |

I am happy quite a bit. I am most happy when I am up at my friend's cabin |

miserable --- sad --- kinda down --- neutral --- pleased --- happy --- elated --- ecstatic
or something like that |

Hard to get there, if that's what you mean.. hmm. I don't find it too hard, if I keep myself in a little denial, it's harder for others sometimes, i think. Situations never make things any better, of course. |

mmmmm...I'm more like a 'sad, depressed, depressed, depressed, depressed, drunk, high, drunk, depressed depressed, happy, sad, happy, sad, depressed, happy...I was born depressed is what I am saying. Elated scares me because of a manic depressive mother. Her happys always meant lethal lows shortly afterwards. I don't like to get excited about anything, I like to stay even keel. I know I am happy now, but like I said, is it an illusion or the real thing? I have no gauge. |

Yes it is hard to be happy these day's with negative people who just love to put you down |

Oh. I like to deliberately produce the elevated states.
Like Colorado or Alaska.

Yes, but I'd rather strive to be content than "happy". |

I've found that you have to make the decision to be happy - it doesnt come naturally to me. |

I know I have a hard time being happy. That is in the way most people perceive, feel happiness or describe it... in my world I'm happy. |
