| LindaH | posted 15-Aug-2007 11:02am No. I'm more into relevant consequence. Making them leave the room if they are pestering their siblings, that sort of thing. |
| Melf | posted 15-Aug-2007 11:29am I have no children. |
| Richard47 | posted 15-Aug-2007 2:47pm Only at a casino, and there was a slot machine in the corner as well....put him to work while he's being punished. |
| cabinfever | posted 15-Aug-2007 2:57pm Yes.... not three minutes ago she was standing in the corner. I prefer that to spanking. After I let her out, I ask her to come to me, and I ask her if she remembers why she is in the corner. I talk to her about what she did and ask her if she'll do it again. She always says no, but four-year-olds don't have a very long memory. |
| Amanda | posted 15-Aug-2007 3:22pm I did a couple of times when he was about 2 or 3. It didn't work so well, so I stopped trying. |
| EyesOfCharisma | posted 15-Aug-2007 4:01pm Yes, I used to do this |
| cerealkiller | posted 15-Aug-2007 4:32pm No. Handcuffing them to the bed ensures they won't move. |
| ausfox | posted 15-Aug-2007 6:52pm No, my son gets the naughty spot or time out in his room if he is being really horrible |
| Enheduanna | posted 15-Aug-2007 9:55pm I don't have kids. I was made to do this once or twice when I was a kid. If I did have kids, I don't think I would do this. I would just send them to their rooms. |
| paulyw | posted 15-Aug-2007 11:46pm I do not have any kids, but if I ever do have kids, I think I will make them stand in the corner, as long it is ok with my SO. I get kids in the taxi who likes to talk so dirty, they need more discipline then standing in the corner |
| mrmarm | posted 16-Aug-2007 2:24am Ha, when I was a kid and other people's kids came over I always made them do what I said or I'll make them force the wall and stand there and stare at it. I often did too. |
| Biggles | posted 16-Aug-2007 9:31am I don't have children, but I was never punished in this way. I was usually sent to my room. |
| paulyw | posted 16-Aug-2007 3:46pm I was never punished this way either. I was punished this way in grade school though |
| mve17 | posted 18-Aug-2007 11:35am I just threaten to eat them |
| cloudhugger | posted 18-Aug-2007 2:44pm I have been gifted with no children.
When I babysat, in my preteen years, I may have sat one or two down in the corner. I don't know, babysitting was always such a damn nightmare for me. It was not easy money. I liked to drink their pop tho. |
| LindaH | (reply to cloudhugger) posted 18-Aug-2007 6:10pm And if the kids get to be too much, ya drink their parents whisky. w00t |
| Zang | posted 9-Sep-2007 1:52am No, but my mother used to use similar punishments on me when I was a child. I had to sit on a stool in front of the clock for thirty minutes. |
| moviesnob | posted 10-Sep-2007 12:35pm No kids. I would probably use some sort of a time out as punishment, but I doubt if it would be in a corner. |
| Enigma | posted 24-Sep-2007 10:56pm No. |
| BenSimpleton72 | posted 8-Oct-2007 11:38pm Yes, but it depends on the crime. I use it for the harsher situations. I do at least 1 hour if not more..My kid is hard to punish. Almost nothing phases him. He hates standing in the corner. He's ADHD. |
| calsgirl2008 | posted 15-Mar-2008 5:23pm MY PARENTS DIDI IT AND IT WORKED |
| mj | posted 9-Jan-2009 5:00pm Spanking only. No grounding or things taken away or standing in corners. |
