I read a lot of books while I was a kid, but it would take me several pages just to tell you which ones I remember reading.

School books, Nancy Drew, various things I got at the library, Dr. Seuss were early books, those stories with the bears Berenstain Bears? And the mice, they were big books that had a lot going on showing inside a house, on the street, loved those. Fairy tales, the typical Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and Andrew Lang fairy tales, Hans Christian Anderson and Grimms, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Rabbit, Ramona books and other books by Beverly Clearly.

I liked comic books a lot -- horror type and funny ones like Archie. But Tarzan was a top favorite comic AND paperbacks. I'd also read anything on jazz and blues I could find in the library. Would read some of my dad's collection of Readers Digest Condensed Books stories and a very few of the "classics" like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.

When I was little I really liked the Little Miss and Mister books, among many others. When I was 8 I graduated to "big people" books, like Stephen King and Poe (I still vividly remember buying 'The Black Cat' at a school book fair). I completely skipped the chapter/young adult books stage.

The only magazines I remember were Seventeen and Sassy, in jr. high and high school. I don't remember if there were any before that.
As for books, I read lots of them, but the series I remember are the Little House books, all of L. M. Montgomery's books, All of a Kind Family, and Cherry Ames.

Oh yeah, Judy Blume and Beverley Cleary. I also liked Arthurian legends. And I read a lot of Steinbeck in high school (mostly not for school, but when I was that age).

Oh, boy. This could take all day. I read heaps as a kid, and still do. I enjoyed all of the Golden Books, Dr Seuss, Berenstein Bears, Narnia series, and I loved biographies and stories of Christians and missionaries. Through Gates of Splendor, Little One: Maid of Israel, David Livingstone, Gladys Aylward, and George Mueller were some of my favourites. My favourite book, as I recall, was 'Gianna'. It was the story of a girl whose mother tried to abort her but she lived to tell about it. I read all the classics - Pilgrim's Progress, Swiss Family Robinson, etc., and I owned many Babysitter's Club, Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books. I read heaps. Guess that's why I became a librarian*smile*

All sorts. I read lots of factual books. My favourite fiction was Roger McGough and Roald Dahl. I read very few children's classics - I only remember the Wizard of Oz, the Wolves of Willoughby Close, and a few Enid Blyton books. There may be more. I definitely read more than I watched television.

Just like now, I always liked reading all kinds of books. I went through an embarrassing period of liking Sydney Sheldon. I liked the Odyssey (far more than I did when I read tried reading it recently).

Regarding magazines, I was obsessed with celebrity magazines. Tabloids and such crap.

I read (and still own) the entire 'Black Stallion' series, the 'Little House' series.... I would read anything in print about horses... Golden Books, Garfield, Richard Scary's children's books, Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume, 'Choose Your Own Adventure' ... and when I got to my teens 'Reader's Digest' also became a favorite. In middle school, I am ashamed to admit, I read 'Sweet Valley High' books.

I really liked it, was very cute... It is what I would expect it to be... I loved how she handled her boyfriend in the movie. She always focused on her 'mysteries' first... I like that because I think it is a good value to instill in girls, not to live your life for boys, etc. etc.
