My dad used to subscribe to the Readers Digest and the Readers Digest Condensed Books series. I mostly saw him leafing thru National Geographics though; he had lots of them. |

I don't know. I had very little contact with him until I was 9 years old because he didn't get along with my step-grandfather (his stepfather). Even then, he didn't live in the same area as I did until I was an adult. I honestly couldn't tell you what he read because he seldom, if ever was reading when I visited him at his apartment. |

My father doesn't read much. When he does read, he likes Reader's Digest, Garfield and Footrot Flats, and some historical/war comics. He reads comedy like Frank Muir and Dennis Norden. Only British comedy tho 'cos U.S. comedy can be a bit smutty, among other things. (And I have to admit, I agree with him. Sorry ) |

My Dad didn't read magazines... No fiction at all either. Such a soulful man he was... |

I take that back... Come to think of it; he did subscribe to National Geographic the year I was born so I grew up with that magazine all my life but it was so interesting that I really didn't consider it as a regular rag publication... |

He liked reading his Army/Navy news letters he received every month, the Bible or anything about the life of Christ, and he liked reading about American history. After he passed away I kept all his Civil War history books. I wouldn't give them up for any amount of money! |

He reads the magazines Opera News, The New Yorker, and Consumer Reports.
As for books, he reads lots of them, mostly good literature although he used to read a lot of trashy science fiction. The series he has probably read the most exhaustively is the Patrick O'Brian books and the Hornblower series. |

He doesn't read any magazines or books. He'll skim through Toronto Star every morning. |

Books, all kinds of stuff. His bookshelf suggests a minor obsession with Winston Churchill. |

When I was growing up I always remember dad having a stack of books next to his chair. Mom would get them from the library. Spy novels, war novels, westerns. Historical books if they were about some war or another. I don't remember dad reading any magazine except for Readers Digest and from time to time, Macleans. The newspaper everyday of course. |

My dad reads 'Reader's Digest', the 'dumb criminal' books I give him, and a lot of Louis L'Amour. |

He really only reads the local paper... daily.
He does have a lot of nature guides - books on different types of animals, trees and plants... that he uses for reference. |
