| Melf | posted 29-Jul-2007 5:44pm I don't have an 8 year old child... Nah, I'd talk about the sea. Is the kid smart? |
| Enheduanna | posted 29-Jul-2007 5:59pm Nothing. Or whatever the child brought up. |
| cabinfever | posted 29-Jul-2007 8:33pm When my kid is eight, I'll let you know. If we did it now, we'd talk about the water, the smell, the birds, the rocks, sand, seaweed, where Daddy is, why we are there, the sky, sun, clouds, people on the beach, the wind, puppies, kitties, horses, whales, fish, boats, when it's going to get dark, when night-night time will be, what time is it now (and again in five minutes), if we can climb the other rocks, how many rocks there are, why some rocks are in the water and some aren't, preschool, daycare, friends, grandmas and grandpas... etc. |
| smurf | posted 29-Jul-2007 8:45pm Why the sea is not really blue? |
| romkey | posted 29-Jul-2007 10:12pm We'd talk about how the hell I suddenly had an eight year old child. |

| Enigma | posted 29-Jul-2007 10:47pm Sheesh! Do people have a hard time with imagination? I guess this should have been a hypothetical question but then people with children would be writing "why is this hypothetical when I have a child?" |

| Amanda | posted 30-Jul-2007 12:17am There's no telling. Sometimes Caleb is wise beyond his years and we have the most amazing conversations. I never knew you could learn so much from a child. Today, he explained his views on religion to me. Although I didn't agree with a lot of what he said, it was very interesting to listen to him speak with such conviction. Anyhow, we'd talk about whatever he wanted to talk about. |
| they | posted 30-Jul-2007 12:34pm Whatever we want to talk about......
Though I doubt she'd be on my lap.... on a rock.. My almost eight year old weighs upwards of 80 lbs and is very tall. Even on the couch is slightly awkward. |
| Irene007 | posted 30-Jul-2007 3:51pm Most probably about the creatures in the sea - chances are that we'd have our faces inches from the water to look for such... |
| cerealkiller | posted 30-Jul-2007 5:11pm I'd be questioning why I chose to have a rock trying to push its way into my ass, probably why we didn't dress for winter since the ocean beaches are generally cold, wondering why it's always so damn windy, and why the sun is rarely out in the summer at the ocean compared to in the winter. |

| joyce | posted 30-Jul-2007 7:57pm I would not talk , I would listen. Children have much to say. |
| RGirl | posted 30-Jul-2007 7:59pm Where the hell this kid came from. I don't have and don't want children. Ok, hypothetically? Nothing. We'd be quiet and listen to the sea. |
| kirst | posted 31-Jul-2007 2:46am We might just be sitting there enjoying the beauty of the moment...or maybe we're talking about seagulls or marine creatures or just how much I love her. |
