I think it's weird to have back to school sales in places that have nothing to do with kids or school. Thrifty Liquor back to school sales. What's that for? The teachers? |
| thecomic22 | posted 17-Jul-2007 1:38pm Yea I agree, I've always thought it was weird. |

Ooh, I'm going to add to list of potential titles for my first short story collection. That goes up high on the list next to "Baskets of Puppies Give You cancer." |

| LindaH | posted 17-Jul-2007 4:11pm I don't know. I didn't notice this. Seems more like bored people who miss Christmas and like the themes in it. I'd rather do something wacky, like make up my own holiday. August needs one. |
| LindaH | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 17-Jul-2007 4:15pm On Halloween in February, The Valentine hearts are real. |
| Amanda | posted 17-Jul-2007 4:21pm I've noticed that LMN is showing a lot of Christmas movies, but I've got no idea why. It's annoying to me. I don't want to watch Christmas movies in July. Hell, I don't even want to watch Christmas movies in December (which the exception of A Christmas Story). |

| mrmarm | posted 18-Jul-2007 11:22pm I just went with a marketing ploy, I can't really think of any other reason, beside it being winter in the southern hemisphere during July. |
| southernyankee | posted 23-Jul-2007 1:14am Its a marketing ploy, and a good one at that. Hopefully, Christmas will take out Valentines Day and maybe Easter. I would find it to be the lessor of two evils. Just don't fudge with Thanksgiving, New Years, Labor Day weekend, or Super Bowl Sunday. |
| Enigma | posted 24-Jul-2007 9:12pm I don't know. First time I heard of it was years ago. |
| MacGregor | posted 9-Aug-2007 2:46pm annoying!!! Christmas is already starting too early. I remember when that stuff didn't show up until after Thanksgiving. |

Stores now start putting out Christmas decorations in September and a week before Christmas Valentine's Day crap comes out. Not too long ago Christmas stuff didn't hit the shelves until after Halloween, and the stuff went half off the day after Christmas and not 2 weeks before.
