Is it possible to get out of shape sexually, after a long period of being celibate?

I went through the deleted surveys, & thought I'd give this one another shot. * smile *

No, it's like riding a bicycle or driving a manual transmission.

Yes but I imagine it would be more mental than physical.

I don't know. I've had periods of celibacy in my adult life that lasted a couple of years

like now! * raspberry *

I've never had any problems...

Isn't that usually like 9 months or something to renew your virgin status.

I've read recently about research done with older Americans (50's and 60's), indicating that if you don't use it you're more likely to lose it (lose ability, lose enjoyment), which would support this theory.

Yes. My sex life has never seemed to pick up to the point where I left off before pregnancy and childbirth.

Sucks.

Mine is actually better than it was before pregnancy and childbirth. Maybe there's hope for you.

Yes, it's possible, but it's all in the mind.

Other: depends on what you mean by 'out of shape'. Do you forget some moves? Maybe. If you don't use it, you lose it. You might not be as flexible after a long period of celibacy... but in some women the celibacy allows certain things to 'tighten back up', if you get my meaning.

Holy crap... lately, I'd think we were twins! I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Ever since I had my kid, my sex drive has been in reverse. My hubby is really suffering, since before the baby we'd be at least three times a week.

To be honest, his sex drive isn't much better - I'm worried that this is what happens when you've been together four years, maybe the baby is just a convenient excuse?
