I marked 90 but it's probably actually more like 97-98%. There's very few on my shelf which I haven't read. |

It's not 100% but I'm sure it's well over 90%. Maybe 96% to 98%. |
cloudhugger | | posted 30-Apr-2007 10:51am |
Most of my books are reference material. I would say maybe 70%. I'm guessing really high. |

I don't know-hard for me to be accurate with percents. I have this habit of collecting books relating to gardening so when I weed out my garage sale finds later, these mainly stay in the bookcase. Most all I own are reference-related. The thriller fictions I pass on when done reading. |

I really don't know and there's too many to try to count. I'm going to say 90%. I have about 7 books in my "to read" shelf. Most of the other books I bought, I read. I've also read most of the books I got as a gift. We actually sell or trade a lot of the books we're read, to make room new books, but we still have a lot. I'm not counting the my wife's books, though in some cases we share books. But some of her books, I'll never read. |

I've read probably 85-90% of the books I own. The rest I've never quite gotten around to... |
Frostbrand | | posted 30-Apr-2007 12:56pm |
I'm not going to take the time to count, but if I had to guess, I'd say about 60%. |

I read lesbian porn |

It's difficult to say. I have a good many books in my possession that I have read, and which I bought for the specific purpose of doing so. But I've also books I've never read. These were either gifts; or books I acquired through having them unloaded on me, and in which I've little or no interest. |

I aint big on reading. My girlfriend Lacey reads romance novels a bunch. |
| RainingFeathers | | posted 30-Apr-2007 3:49pm |
I checked off 10%; I'm not sure how accurate that is. I give away most of my books after I read them (using a site called Bookcrossing). There are a few I've read that I haven't gotten around to releasing yet, but most of my books are on Mount TBR (to be read). |

Maybe 50%.
I have plenty of reference books that I don't "use on a regular basis"... but I have used them somewhat. |
| RGirl | | posted 30-Apr-2007 5:15pm |
I'm going with 70%. This is only because my interests are so varied I have a real hard time passing up books. I think my reading ambitions are bigger than what I am actually capable of managing. |
| ausfox | | posted 30-Apr-2007 5:25pm |
About 60%. It's only because I borrow books from the library, instead of reading the ones that I've bought. I will get around to reading them all though. |
| Biggles | | posted 30-Apr-2007 5:32pm |
Counting all of my books that are in the attic of my parents' house, probably about 65 - 70%. I get more books out of the library than I buy. |
| ultamate | | posted 30-Apr-2007 5:55pm |
about 40% which is good since I have a lot of books and don't read that often. |
cerealkiller | | posted 30-Apr-2007 6:17pm |
0%. Lot's of new age and health crap books, old ancient classics passed down, etc. Haven't read any. I don't keep any book I've read in the past. Done, toss it. I do keep reference books for my work, but don't "read" them. Just look at them for handy reference, like converting concrete strength to Mpa when doing highway projects. Answer this - why the hell do state dot's do all their projects using the metric system? A contractor can't call up the local ready - mix and say"I need 50 cubic meters of 30 Mpa concrete". |
| kirst | | posted 30-Apr-2007 6:52pm |
90% at least. I have a few non-fiction books that are on the boat that I haven't read yet...mostly stuff relating to language and how it developed around the world. I also have some other books that a friend gave me that I'm just not that interested in. Typically if I buy books, I read them. And usually right away. |
| thecomic22 | | posted 30-Apr-2007 8:25pm |
I dont read much. |
| gazelda1 | | posted 30-Apr-2007 10:00pm |
i tend to buy to many before i am even done reading the ones i am on...so I am always trying to catch up....it keeps me reading...although now i have to stop buying...get caught up and start using the library more....darn books are expensive and they don't fit into the budget for the next two years |

Good question. I have a library full of alternative medicine books, which I've read. I have many books and tapes on politics, and books on politics in relation to religion, of which is ongoing. Also, a few novels, which I've read. I'd say 60 to 70%. |
Enheduanna |
About 80%, if I play a little loose with your definition. I consider most of my work-related books "reference," even if they aren't technically reference works. I have used most of them at least once, and I use many of them very frequently. I use my other reference or reference-type books somewhat regularly. And I have read almost all the fiction I own. So there aren't too many books that I haven't at least looked through pretty thoroughly. |
Iseult | | posted 1-May-2007 10:27am |
I'd say 80%. Recently I threw out many books, and quite a few of them were the ones I bought or acquired and were never going to read. The number is never going to climb up to 100% because I went through a phase of Dickens-buying and those books I'll never read, but they look very nice on the living room shelf.
I also swore I'm not buying another book until I've read all the ones I have. At one point it was getting ridiculous, I had all those books and I kept buying. |
| Danger | | posted 1-May-2007 12:35pm |
I have probably read 98% of the books I own. The very few books that I own and haven't read were given to me as gifts that I haven't been bored enough to even try reading yet. |
Zang |
I picked 90%, but it's probably more. |
| Gomezy3k |
about 90% Still have a few books I haven't read. Some I haven't read cover to cover but have read/used parts of them... |

My sister moved to Germany and gave me her entire library and she used to work in a book store so I have no need to buy anything for sometime unless it's a new find that I have to read right away. |
Melf | | posted 20-May-2007 1:26pm |
71% |

| Charly | | posted 22-May-2007 1:30am |
About 90 95 percent. And my personal library is around 6000 books! |
| mrmarm | | posted 29-May-2007 7:13am |
I'd saw less then 10% to be honest. |
