Well...there's different kinds of tabloids. One of our local newspapers is a tabloid, and although I haven't habitually read a newspaper for about ten years, I'll still read one if it's lying around.

I've never really read one of those celebrity gossip kind of tabloids. That sort of thing bores me to tears. I don't even know who most of those people are and I certainly don't give a rat's ass who is fudging who! I may have flipped through one quickly when I was a teenager.

When I was in my twenties, me and some of my friends would regularly pick up the Weekly World News. It was cheap entertainment. We loved reading Ed Anger's column and stories with headlines like: "Space Aliens Have Elvis's Brain!"

When I first arrived in the UK, I picked up a copy of The Sun and immediately turned to page three. It just seemed like the thing to do. I hadn't even left Heathrow yet!

Other than that, I'll take a glance at the covers when I'm in the supermarket checkout line, that's about it.

If someone has bought one and left it then I'll flick through. But I would never actually pay for that crap.

I always liked that bit in MIB where they get most of their leads from those types of newspapers though....

I was going to say yes.... until I saw all your pictures.

I'm not sure now if what I read is what you are talking about. I read mags like US, People or In Touch... None of these though.

I used to quite a while ago, it seemed the next step up from comic books. I found it exhausting to read them because of exclamation points at the end of each sentence.

Occasionally. I don't subscribe or purchase them but maybe once or twice a year and that's because I'm going on a trip and need something to read other than a book.

when i go to the grocery store i will glance through whatever is right in front of me. at work, at most of the nurse's stations there are alot of the "people magazine" type magazines and i will look through those if it is sitting on the counter. some of the magazines are just as bad as the tabloids sometimes.

I'd glance at the headlines while standing in line. Sometimes, I'll look through one in a doctor's office.

Yes, sometimes. Until recently, I read them alot, but far less these days. "The Sun" was the one I read most. Occasionally "The Daily Mirror". I tend to rather read books these days.

Years ago I did, and did find some of the material interesting, and it had nothing to do with the "stars".

No. Sometimes I might laugh at a headline or two when I'm grocery shopping in the US, but I find this kind of stuff silly.

When I can peek for free, the headlines in a line, and sometimes it's a guilty pleasure. But if I'm going to indulge, I'll nearly always buy People.

We used to subscribe to the National Enquirer because it was so funny, but after a few years we noticed they were recycling stories we'd seen before so we didn't renew.

When someone's in the hospital, one thing I'm known for is buying a copy of the raggiest tabloid I can find (usually "Globe" or "Weekly World News") and reading the stories out loud with great emphasis. The stories are so crazy it's usually a good pick me up.

THAT is a fantastic idea! When I was sick in the hospital, any entertainment was welcome. It's not only boring to be hospitalized, but also to visit someone in the hospital. You usually just sit there and make small talk while they drift in and out of consciousness. This keeps both parties entertained...
