I'm not sure now if what I read is what you are talking about. I read mags like US, People or In Touch... None of these though. |
| cloudhugger | posted 24-Apr-2007 8:03am I used to quite a while ago, it seemed the next step up from comic books. I found it exhausting to read them because of exclamation points at the end of each sentence. |
| Wackadoo | posted 24-Apr-2007 8:15am Occasionally. I don't subscribe or purchase them but maybe once or twice a year and that's because I'm going on a trip and need something to read other than a book. |
| jettles | posted 24-Apr-2007 8:39am when i go to the grocery store i will glance through whatever is right in front of me. at work, at most of the nurse's stations there are alot of the "people magazine" type magazines and i will look through those if it is sitting on the counter. some of the magazines are just as bad as the tabloids sometimes. |

| CarlHalling | posted 24-Apr-2007 9:29pm Yes, sometimes. Until recently, I read them alot, but far less these days. "The Sun" was the one I read most. Occasionally "The Daily Mirror". I tend to rather read books these days. |

THAT is a fantastic idea! When I was sick in the hospital, any entertainment was welcome. It's not only boring to be hospitalized, but also to visit someone in the hospital. You usually just sit there and make small talk while they drift in and out of consciousness. This keeps both parties entertained... |

I've never really read one of those celebrity gossip kind of tabloids. That sort of thing bores me to tears. I don't even know who most of those people are and I certainly don't give a rat's ass who is fudging who! I may have flipped through one quickly when I was a teenager.
When I was in my twenties, me and some of my friends would regularly pick up the Weekly World News. It was cheap entertainment. We loved reading Ed Anger's column and stories with headlines like: "Space Aliens Have Elvis's Brain!"
When I first arrived in the UK, I picked up a copy of The Sun and immediately turned to page three. It just seemed like the thing to do. I hadn't even left Heathrow yet!
Other than that, I'll take a glance at the covers when I'm in the supermarket checkout line, that's about it.
