No, but I remember when I was young my grandmother would have to clean them out of mine. I don't have children.

No, and, when I lived in Santa Cruz I seem to recall a lot of bananna slugs. I guess one just never got into my clothes (that I knew of).

Not out of clothes. Getting the slime off the walls and out of horse feed buckets was bad enough. Don't envy you that task.

When I was a kid I stepped on a slug while wearing just socks (I know, I know, I shouldn't have been outside without my shoes) and after the socks went through the wash there was this hard crusty spot of dried slug slime. I threw the socks away.

Last week I was pulling weeds in the flower beds when I inadvertently kneeled on a slug and got my knee slimed. This was a favorite pair of sweats so I decided to try to get them clean. I used some pet stain and odor remover that has enzymes in it. I had to wash them three times, but it finally all came out. I was quite pleased with my victory!

Umm... haven't you ever seen a slug? They're like snails without a shell, and they leave a slime trail as they move along. If you crush one lots of slime comes out. They're really rather disgusting.

Oh Sue... *frown*

I stepped on a slug when I was a kid, too... I think I had sneakers on... but it freaked me out badly and I was afraid of the garden for years afterwards.

*laughing out loud* I'm glad you got over your fear and have been able to enjoy gardening in recent years! *smile*

No, and if this situation did occur I would dispose of the item of clothing.

The slimey stuff that comes out of slugs when you (in my case, accidentally) squish one.

Not that I recall. I'm pretty sure the last time I had a slug slime/clothing related mishap, my mother was still doing my laundry. Ah, those were the days...I've got a load in the dryer right now.

The biggest one I've ever seen was a Banana slug about a foot long and about as big around as a shovel handle. These green ones tend to be a lot bigger than the Black slug. The biggest black one I've seen was probably only about four inches long and maybe as big around as my thumb.
