Do you make long distance telephone calls & if you do, where to?

A long distance telephone call would be one adding additional charges for distance farther than that which has been designated by your telephone company as local whether it be within or outside of your current state, country, or other geographical boundary.

I'd estimate that 75% of my calls are long distance. Some of them are within my state, some are to other states. Up until Friday, most of them were to Laramie, Wyoming...but my friend that I called moved to Omaha, Nebraska this weekend, so now most of them will be to there. I also call Washington, Texas, and Kansas. (Well, Kansas isn't as often anymore.) Oh...and there's this one weird chick in Oregon that I've called. I really need to call her crazy ass again soon. * winking raspberry *

Yes; on my home phone I make them to various places within the US. On my cell, all US calls are the same rate, so I guess that doesn't qualify, although lots of them would be long distance on a land line. I have made a couple of calls on my cell phone while I was in another country, and those accrued quite a steep additional charge, although ironically, they were to the same area code as my cell number. They just happened to be made via a cell tower in the Czech Republic.

Not really. I called my cousin Marie in Sarnia last week. Last month I called the sister in law in Florida. I used to call the other sister in law in Niagara Falls a lot but she's a dog and I don't call her anymore.

My Nana in Texas, my brothers- across the state and Indiana, and places that are in my area but far away enough to be long distance- the vet or doctor.

I make long distance calls on my cell phone, so there aren't any extra charges. I call my family often.

My grandma, aunt, and cousin who all live together.

My daughter makes calls to her dad.

At work, I talk long distance all day long. None of these charges are toll calls though. I don't have a landline - only a cell.

I make long distance phone calls to my family in Sheffield, and to friends elsewhere. Here, local is just the city that I live in.

Nowadays long distance charges are pretty obsolete.

I never use my home landline so I'd say "none". My wife calls me at work 2-3 times a day to dog, which are long distance calls but only 3 cents a minute.

I only use my cellphone and there are no long distance charges within the U.S.

Yes, Ohio, South Carolina, & Germany. I wanted to let everyone here know about Skype. It's a way to make long distance calls on your computer for free. This is a major thing for me since I make international long distance calls. Both parties have to be signed up for it and you have to have speakers or headphones & a microphone. That's it. Download the program and ask your friends & family members who have a computer to do the same and you can talk anytime for free. Skype also lets you know who is online & send IM's. It is the best thing ever & saves me a ton. I can talk to my sister in Germany everyday. If you do start using it, let me know what you think. I am hoping everyone enjoys it as much as I do. www.skype.com
