Curtains (although not those particular ones). I don't like venetian blinds much at all, unless the slats are made of wood. |

I don't prefer either of these! Those curtains are pretty damned gaudy.
In general, though, I would almost always prefer curtains, drapes or regular shades to venetian blinds. |

I prefer both. But, if I had to pick one or the other, I think I'd go with curtains. |

Curtains. But not necessarily these curtains. I think I like drapes...

I prefer anything but Venetian blinds. They get dirty and they're rarely visually appealing. Now, I know that in some instances blinds make more sense than curtains, however, there are blind alternatives to the Venetians. |

Depends on which room it is and what the decor is. I'd have nothing on any of my windows if I didn't have any neighbors. |

Neither. If I lived somewhere where I really needed them I'd get colorful fabric to make my own curtains, though -- something hippie or ethnic. Right now I don't need it enough and like to let in as much light as possible for all my plants. |

I recently had to make this decision & I actually prefer wooden, bamboo, or some sort of woven grass blind. |

I prefer vertical blinds. |

Light curtain. I hate heavy curtains. I like venetian blinds but they can be a hassle to clean. |

Curtains. They are very pretty. |

Blinds usually. We have wooden ones in our place. |

Curtains. But not the ones on the picture. |
cerealkiller | | posted 20-Mar-2007 6:24pm |
Haven't heard it called "venetian blinds" since I was a kid. It's mini-blinds or just blinds.
What about the choices for drapes or shutters?? Or no window coverings at all??

curtains-I especially dislike those vinyl blinds. Wishy washy colour and they look cheap. Better quality blinds look much better but curtains are still more attractive, IMHO. |
Zang | | posted 21-Mar-2007 1:09am |
At home I prefer curtains. Heavy black curtains that block out that nasty sun!
Blinds are more appropriate in an office environment however.
I picked "Curtains" because I figured you were probably talking about "in the home". |

Other; Vertical blinds or Rolladen shutters |

I really like Roman blinds:
Curtains have to be taken down and washed more often because they hold in smells, dust, and cat hair... Venetian blinds just look kind of ugly but are easier to dust and maintain.
Right now I have some curtains and Venetian blinds in my house. |

Roman blinds? I much prefer Roman Noodles. Oh wait... Raman... or something. |

Both........ I guess it depends on the room?.... Curtains wouldn;t work well in the kitchen |

Curtains look better, but Venetian blinds are just easier to deal with. |

It depends on the window. I have vertical blinds in the living room and dining room but I'm getting quite tired of them and would like to move to curtains of a sort.
In the bedroom we have lovely wood horizontal blinds along with curtains. |

Curtains.... blinds are so.... 90's. They are hard to clean, a pain in the ass to install, and if you have an odd-sized window, they are a dog to cut if you have to do it yourself. If you live near a Lowe's or Home Depot, where they cut them for you, you are in luck... sort of. Curtains are just more stylish and do more for a room. |

Curtains, but I can tolerate venetian blinds if necessary. |

Blinds. Curtains are dowdy. |

Curtains and draperies. My kitchen window had venetian blinds when I moved it, but they don't anymore. |
