I have no idea... |

A gallon of organic milk is around $7 here... the best price I've seen for a gallon of regular gas recently is $2.39, though it's more like $2.59 at a lot of stations now, I think. I don't smoke, don't drink soda, don't buy beer, don't have kids or a horse, buy apples one at a time, and I can't remember how much eggs cost. |

Ok, this is what everything costs where I live in Australia. I have converted $ to USD
- 3 litres of milk (closest I could get to a gallon) is $2.99
- Gallon of gas is $3.75
- Cigarettes about $9.32
- 2 litre of Coke is $2.51
- 3.5lb apples $3.40
- dozen eggs $2.77
- beer is $27.95
- No idea about the pot, sorry
- Cost per week for childcare is $210
- Can't help you with the horse either, sorry

I'm in central Mississippi.
Gallon of milk- $3.45
Gallon of gas- $2.69
Pack of name brand cigarettes- depends on the brand....Marlboro's are anywhere from $2.81-$3.20 (depending on where you buy them)
2 liter of Pepsi or Coke- $1.39
3-5 pound bag of apples- I have no idea, as I don't buy apples. At the store I worked at, red apples were $0.89 a pound. (That's been 2 months ago, though.)
Dozen large eggs-$1.29 or so
Twelve pack of name brand beer- Bud's usually about $9.00
1/4 ounce of pot-this varies a lot...I paid $35 last weekend
Childcare-I don't hire sitters, so I don't know what they charge per hour. It's been over 4 years since I used a daycare. I paid $75 a week, then. Last I heard, they run anywhere from $80-$100 per week.
Horses-Not a clue. |

gas: about 2.09-2.29 (around this time of year)
soft drinks: 2 liters costs about .99 to 1.50 (?)
a 12 pack of bear will run you about $10, I think. A bottle of vodka probably 15-20 bucks.
Since I don't drink milk, smoke, have kids, eat eggs or apples, or smoke pot I have no idea how much these things cost. |

Don't know any of these. I forget. |

milk - approx. $3.29 for one, but only $4.09 if you buy two. Makes sense. Not.
gas - about $2.89 average right now.
cigs - $4.75 to $5.28 depending on the convenience store
2 liter soda - No idea. Never buy soda like that. It goes flat. 12 packs on sale are about $3.50
3-5lb apples - No clue. Buy apples once or twice a year, and only 2-3 of them at a time.
Eggs - I'm guessing $2 something, but I never buy eggs
12 pack of beer - Guessing again at about $11-$12. Never buy beer either
1/4 oz of pot - I'd have to ask my son. I've never bought any in my life
Babysitter - Hell if I know. Been over 25 years since any babies around.
Horses - Anyone who can afford a horse shouldn't worry about the cost. |

Since I don't buy most of this stuff I have no idea. I do know that a dozen large eggs are $.99 at Trader Joe's, and that's where I always buy my eggs. I know not of horses, beer, babysitters, pot, apples, pepsi or coke, tobacco, nor a whole gallon of milk. Usually just buy a quart at a time when I buy milk, and always from Trader Joe's -- it's very low but I forgot exactly how much. It's less than the other stores though. I just read something about a gallon of gas being $3-something in my area. I don't care since I don't drive but there was an article about it in today's free newspaper. |

a gallon of gas= about $2.55 right now. a gallon of milk= $3 and change. 2Liter of soda when on sale are like $0.99 but about $1.89 when not. apples about $1.49/lb depending on the type. a dozen eggs about $1.49 and on sale $0.99. 12 pack of beer really depends on the brand. i have no idea about cigarettes, pot, babysitter or horse boarding. I live in Jacksonville, Florida(north east florida) |
| RainingFeathers |
4 litres of milk (1.05 gallons) = $4.10 - $4.80
1 litre of gas (0.26 gallons) = $0.95 - $0.99
2 litres of Coke = $1.99
An hour of babysitting = $5.00 - $9.00
A week of daycare for children 6-12 years = $48.00
2-5 years= $92.00
3-23 months = $140.00
This is in Winnipeg, Canada. I don't know the other prices.
*edited to add - these prices are in Canadian $. |

I'm going to guess. I barely get any of the stuff. I live in Ontario, Canada.
- a gallon of milk - milk is sold in litres. I think two litres is something like $4. I don't drink milk so I don't pay any attention to it.
- a gallon of gas - again, gas is sold in litres. Last thing I know is 102 cents, however, that refinery in Windsor burnt down. It's usually around 80 cents.
- a pack of name brand cigarettes - last thing I know, their range would be $8.50-$10.00.
- a 2 liter of Pepsi or Coke - don't drink either, but I think it's around $2 (unless there's a special).
- a 3-5 pound bag of apples - varies by the store. Highland Farms (where I shop most frequently) is $1.99.
- a dozen large eggs - again, something I don't buy. I think it would be somewhere around $3.
- a twelve pack of name brand beer - like $15/$20? Don't drink beer.
- a 1/4 ounce of pot - is that the same thing as dime? I remember dime went for $20 for the longest time ever. I don't smoke pot but I know people that do. Hardcore ones buy it in large quantities and usually get a discount from the dealer.
cost per hour for a babysitter - I really don't know. Five bucks? My roommate does it every now and then, but she's a professional E.C.E. so she gets paid more. Daycares range. I think $1000 a month is a fair estimate, depending on how old the kid is.
- cost per month to board a horse - I don't know. |

A gallon of gas is 2.50 a for a gallon

I have no place for a horse but it would probably cost you $100.00 a day to board your horse

I do not drink beer no I do not
I smoke no pot it is illegal and against the law
My eggs family size I paid $2.89 and a bag of apples is $4.00 or more

Northeast Oregon:
Gallon of milk: $1.99
Gallon of gas (today): $2.53
Pack of cigs: Don't have that nasty habit, so I don't know... I think my sister-in-law pays $5/pack for Carolina Slims or something like that.
2-liter of Coke or Pepsi: Depends on the sale... $1.25 - 1.50
Bag of apples.... not sure.
Dozen large eggs: Depends on if they are organic or not... the ones I buy are $1.50
Twelve-pack of beer: $14-17.
Pot: I have no fudging idea... don't get into that crap.
Babysitter: I pay my babysitter $2/hour... I know, she's great!! Daycare is about $100/week to start.
Boarding a horse: Depends on the place.... around $50/month.
Edit: Damn! A lot of you pay through the nose for milk! The prices were very high here one summer, and then they came back down some... still isn't back to the $1.25 we were paying. |

This is tricky because US gallons and UK gallons are different, but I'll have a go.
A US gallon is roughly equal to 6 and a half pints.
A 6 pint jug of milk is about £1.68 ($3.24)
A US gallon is diesel costs about £3.36 ($6.48)
A pack of 20 Marlboros is £5.20 ($10.04)
A 2 litre bottle of Pepsi costs about £1.46 ($2.81)
A 4.5lb bag of apples cost about £3 ($5.79)
A dozen large eggs (free range) - £2 ($3.86)
12 cans of beer - £9 ($17.38)
|
they |
Milk: 2.79
Gas: 2.50
Cigs: 4.50

Pot: 40.00
I don't know about apples, eggs, beer, babysitters, or horses. |

No,not really, just curious. My hubby wants to move to a warmer state, every winter he complains about the cold and swears this is the last f%$#*& winter he's going to live here. I don't want to move, at least until the kids graduate in 5 yrs.
I don't smoke weed anymore but my sister in law wanted me to throw that one in . I don't pay anything right now to board my horse,My daughter and I work it off helping around the farm, which to me isn't even like work because I enjoy every minute of it, the other boarder pay $150 per month.

The prices are probably pretty different in SF and in Minnesota, although I'm not really sure about a lot of these items, since I don't really pay close attention to many prices. Gas is the only one I'm sure about; it's about $2.50 a gallon in Minnesota, and about $3.00 in SF. That's just a rough average. Cigarettes are about $5 in SF, and about $4 in Minn. I'm not sure about the others, and for things like apples I'm sure it varies seasonally. Rent is the big one, though: we pay $1700 for a two-bedroom apartment in SF, not including utilities. I'm paying $385 for a studio/one-bedroom (it's kind of in-between) in Minnesota, including utilities. The rent in Minnesota for something comparable to what we have in SF would probably be $700 or so. |

I am in Merseyside, United Kingdom.
I don't buy milk, petrol, cigarettes, Coke, apples, beer, pot, the services of a babysitter, or horse boarding...so I don't really know what they cost.
A dozen medium free range eggs cost about £1.89 from the supermarket I go to. A dozen large free-range eggs would be over £2. Non-free-range eggs cost quite a bit less, but I don't buy them. Soon, I believe, all chicken eggs sold in the EU will have to be free-range, so I'm hoping more demand will drive the prices down a bit. |

I had to converse these to our standards (I'm in The Netherlands) first, but here's rough estimate:
a gallon of milk: $2.99
a gallon of gas: $6.67
a pack of name brand cigarettes: $5.59
a 2 liter of Pepsi or Coke: $1.71
a 3-5 pound bag of apples: ???
a dozen large eggs: ???
a twelve pack of name brand beer: Heineken $9,99. Cans that is. 24 bottles of Heineken (0,3 liter) is $14.47
a 1/4 ounce of pot: 1 gram is $7.89. You do the math for gram to 1/4 ounce.
cost per hour for a babysitter: (depends on the age of the babysitter ofcourse) but about $6.58 per hour
cost per month to board a horse (I know, pretty obscure, but I really want to know): $328 |

This is for Vancouver, Canada.
- a gallon of milk ( or the equivalent for your area)
Milk is sold by the litre. A litre is about $2
- a gallon of gas
Gas is also sold by the litre. It's over a dollar.
- a pack of name brand cigarettes
Cigarettes are nearly $9 for a pack of 20
- a 2 liter of Pepsi or Coke
About $3 if I'm not mistaken. Probably cheaper some places.
- a 3-5 pound bag of apples
Apples are somewhere between 25 and 50 cents a piece, if I'm not mistaken.
- a dozen large eggs
2 or 3 bucks
- a twelve pack of name brand beer
around $20
- a 1/4 ounce of pot
about $25 I think.
- cost per hour for a babysitter ( or cost per week for daycare)
No idea
- cost per month to board a horse (I know, pretty obscure, but I really want to know)
There is no place where you could board a horse around here. You would have to travel more than an hour by car, I would think.

A "dime bag", isn't a particular weight. It just means $10 worth. If you were paying $20 for a "dime bag", they weren't just ripping you off, they were ripping you off and laughing at you. |

gallon of regular was around $3.15 a couple of months ago, which is when I last bought gas for my scooter
Never smoked, so no help there

Apples, it depends on how much they are charging this year at the fruit stand, last year a bag was around $3.00, but I also have an apple tree in back of my house. I only buy apples when I want them for pie making.
dozen farm fresh eggs from my neighbor's chickens $1.50 (she usually charges more, but I give her cat a bath for free whenever she needs it)
