  Where is this? (2)

Just as the previous survey of this name (http://surveycentral.org/survey/24973.html), your task is to identify this city viewed from satellite:

As usual, no options, just come up with your guesses. If no-one gets it straight away, I'll start posting clues.

I know it's probably some European city, since the image URL address has "co.uk". I'm guessing either London or Paris.

I see a river, and some mountains... a decent harbor area, this is a notable port city. Roof-tops seem to have a red tint, I'm not sure what to conclude from that (perhaps North America, southwestern style?). It looks dry (not very green). There's a clear structure at the top of some large hill. Ah, wait.. maybe that's a clue. Is it Rio de Janeiro, Brazil? Or, maybe that's some sort of observatory (but a city is a terrible place for an observatory). hm

I was just checking some Spanish cities and they have the same reddish color roofs... so, perhaps Spain or somewhere in the Mediterranean

I'm really awful at things like this. I feel like the harbour part should be a huge giveaway but I just can't think of where it might be.

Athens, Greece? I'm thinking that maybe the round shape that's just a bit to the right of centre might an ancient stadium. Wild ass guess, as usual.

This, and your previous comments, are good observations. I won't say how close you are yet, but you're definitely on the right lines *smile*

OK, forget my previous reply, you seem to have worked it out anyway!

OK, enough of you seem to have spotted that it's Barcelona. The real identifier (apart from general things like it being a port city and the nearby mountains) is the long straight road running from centre-left to towards top-right. Since the grid pattern of the city is predominantly parallel to the coast, this road is running diagonally as far as the city is concerned and it's a key Barcelona landmark - it's actually called "Avinguda Diagonal" ("Diagonal Avenue", in English).

Hypersky: The round shape just to the right of centre is Barcelona's Olympic stadium (from the 1992 Olympics).

Rome? A total complete guess...no, wait. That looks like a draw bridge of somesort which confuses me. No, looks like more of a container port. Somewhere densely populated with a large river...I have no clue.
