Ultimately there is no knowing. It all comes down to belief and opinion. |

good question... perhaps the entire concept is absurd! It's all in our heads! |

This is how I know: Many things in my life have been a struggle so I constantly remind myself that I should be thankful. I think its only natural, though, to take things for granted. |

This was an argument my husband and I had in the earlier years of our marriage. I told him he takes me for granted, takes advantage of my nature, he says of course, you're supposed to feel that when married. He misunderstood what I meant. You have to SHOW you love someone, not just words. No loving action...empty words. He felt the way you patch up any argument was ...off to the bed. Being the obedient wife, I did, but always felt nothing ever settled....no communication, which I know is not uncommon in many homes and todays world. |

I see and compare. I realize I dog when I they put whipped cream on my hot chocolate when there are people who have to drink infested water. |

I see that's how I know. I don't think how lucky I am that I have flowers to smell instead of gunpowder. When I see what's going on, if I think about it sure I'll realize I'm taking the flowers and my good fortune of being born where I was for granted. |

I don't know, I don't not know - I just make educated guesses and see how things work out. |

This is how I know:
Because there's a trail of granteds behind me.
I take very little for granted. |

I take some things for granted. Everybody does. Human beings aren't always mindful of things, so it's easy to be have any number of negative qualities, even for those people who are "best". |

I take some things for granted.
The things I don't, well I just know that I appreciate them. |

Because there will come a day when you don't have something/someone anymore, and you will miss it/them more than you ever even imagined, at that is how you will know. |
