I have two bedside tables. The one on my side of the bed has two levels. The top, then a shelf under. On the top there's a lamp, an alarm clock, an ashtray, and a small heater. On the bottom shelf are a phone book, the book I'm reading, a Bible, and my pot box. On the table on the other side of the bed there's a framed photo of Caleb, remote control, a candle, and some of Caleb's books. |

At home in SF, there's a lamp, an alarm clock, a box of tissues, and when I'm also there, there's the book I'm currently reading. There's also a bunch of random crap in the drawers. Here in Minnesota I have a little basket on the floor next to my bed (I'm sleeping on my AeroBed, so it's very low). It has a picture of my SO, a lamp, my book, a tube of lip balm, and at night, it has my cell phone, which I use for an alarm clock. I think I might bring the picture of my SO in to my office and put it on my desk, though. |

No bedside table. Just a big tiled Moroccan table that serves as an everything table. On that are an alarm clock; 3 books; 2 tiles (one with legs on it); a yellow vase with lavender in it; an aromatherapy burner with ylang-ylang in it; 2 squarish ceramic kind of dishes -- in one of these, "Mediterranean" tile blue & white print, is the burner above; in the other, multicolored with a sunflower in the center, a couple of cloves; A food list; a pair of eyeglasses in a hot-pepper shaped-and-colored ceramic dish; and a couple of notices from a newspaper about group walks I might want to take. |

telephone
I have all these on my night stand
|
| RainingFeathers | | posted 14-Feb-2007 1:57pm |
Of these, I have a lamp, clock, remote, book, notepad, pens, and pencils. I also have scissors, erasers, bookmarks and my radio. |
| RGirl | | posted 14-Feb-2007 2:55pm |
The lamp is actually part of the table, it's not on the surface. Alarm clock, telephone, books, notepad & pen/pencil. A box with things like chap stick, book markers, pencil sharpener, tissue. And lotion. |
cloudhugger | | posted 14-Feb-2007 3:32pm |
Alarm clock (2 or 3), the book I'm currently reading, notepad, pen, and other: which includes a booklight, other books I have already read or gave up on. A porcelain figure of a monk and stuff for dry lips. And dust.

Iseult | | posted 14-Feb-2007 6:43pm |
It's not exactly a bedside table, it's one of those plastic things from Walmart with drawers. Currently there is my lamp, a mirror, and a DVD on it, but I usually keep my remotes there. |

Damn, that's a lot of sex.
I do about a pack or less a day.... I need to cut back. I have started smoking a lot less since I quit smoking in the house when Ben's home... he hates it. I still smoke in the house while I'm working, but in my office only - with the window cracked.
PS... in response to the pot question you asked earlier (and I avoided)... a friend of mine is getting rid of $30 shake quarters.... So she's bringing me two of them right now. I suck It's a good deal though.... what can I say?
What do you usually pay down there? Up here, for regular old commercial weed, prices are:
25$ for an 1/8
40$ for a 1/4
70$ for a 1/2
An 'O' usually runs around 120-130$

Nothing too exciting; a telephone, a book and a box of tissues. |
| Amanda | | (reply to they) posted 14-Feb-2007 11:44pm |
I'd smoke a lot less if I had to go out in the cold, too. That's certainly one way to quit. I wouldn't be able to handle it. I smoke about a pack a day, but more if I'm really bored or lonely or something.
I pay about $100 for an oz., $50 for a half. Prices on the anything else varies a lot, depending on who you get it from. I always buy an oz. or a half, because I save money that way. |

Some of James' books. That's it. (It's a really small bedside table that's built in next to our (also built in) bed.) What can I say...we live on a boat. |

I dont have a bedside table - its more like a bedside windowledge. There's bottles of cosmetics and bobbles and stuff on there. |
Zang | | posted 17-Feb-2007 4:35pm |
Lamp, boom-box, ashtray and some medication. The books are all underneath, and the alarm clock is on the other side of the room for obvious reasons. |
| RGirl | | (reply to Zang) posted 17-Feb-2007 6:01pm |
Last week I had a dentist appointment and I had my alarm set, sitting on my bedside table. I must've been in a weird stage of sleep because when it went off I just kept hitting snooze without even being aware of what it was that was making the noise or why but I still knew that this button would shut it up. It was really weird. |

Lamp, alarm clock and a hair clip |
| llamamama | | posted 17-Feb-2007 10:44pm |
alarm clock...but my nightstand is a bookshelf..with lots of books. |
Zang | | (reply to RGirl) posted 17-Feb-2007 11:04pm |
Yeah. I found that if I didn't put it across the room it was about useless. It would go off. I would just wake up enough to shut it off, no not hit the snooze button but shut it right off, and then go right back to sleep. |
| Amanda | | (reply to LindaH) posted 17-Feb-2007 11:29pm |
Your comment reminded me that I've go a couple of hair clips clipped on the leg of my bedside table. I've got this bad habit of forgetting I've got one in, then laying down. Those things hurt when you lay down on them. |
LindaH | | (reply to Amanda) posted 17-Feb-2007 11:34pm |
Sarah came to my room to sleep with me and had one in. She asked me to take it out, and that's where I put it. My nightstand has a bottom shelf all full of magazines and a couple pairs of slipper-socks. I didn't think to mention those. I think of the bottom shelf as 'in' instead of 'on' I guess. |
| Amanda | | (reply to LindaH) posted 17-Feb-2007 11:46pm |
There's a good survey question. What's in your bedside table? From some comments people have made (myself included) that could get interesting. |
| RGirl | | (reply to Amanda) posted 18-Feb-2007 3:00am |
Yeah, make that survey, from what I've learned it could be MOST interesting! |

How do you like using the CPAP? My step dad may need one and I don't think he'll be able to comply with the contraption. |

Only problem is I'm sure most people won't be completely honest. I know I wouldn't be! |

My nightstand has an upper & lower shelf. Top shelf: A rectangular inlaid wooden box from the 70's with some of my grandmother's jewelry in it. A small, round cedar wood container nearly filled with quarters for laundry, a small, square inlaid wooden box that belonged to my grandmother (she kept hairpins in it, I use it for Q-tips). These are stacked upon each other starting with the first box listed. I also have an Ovaltine mug (reproduction) with assorted pens, a cut glass dessert dish with some decorative stones & a strand of Mardi Gras beads (all given to me by friends), a stoneware coaster with a picture of the Yaquina Head lighthouse on it. Lower shelf: Bottle of aspirin, bottle of ibuprofen, bottle of generic pseudeophedrine that I ordered from Canada, fingernail clippers, penny container, wrist brace for right hand & a blank VHS tape. |
