I really haven't any per se, that really sticks, but my family (son, and grand/son/daughter), when playing board or cards games with them, may call me Eva because I play tough, to win, they all gang up on me...LOL Or "Doc" sometimes from family and friends, because of my interest n natural medicine, or prevention. Or sometimes Jeanie, Beanie, or Jean the Bean, from my sister and brother, and one friend, they love rhyming my name. When I was a little girl, for a short time, I was called Jeanie bug, because I liked and collected ladybugs (I was a bit of a tomboy as a young girl). My husband calls me the "Monk" (after TV character) sometimes, because when building something, I like precise measurements, I can eye a measurement that is off...LOL, drives him crazy. He always tells me "I'm not your dad" who was meticulous about measurements (he was a machinist). My dad when doing ANYTHING, was precise. He built a double story house by himself, with his own blue prints and had no more than an 8th grade education....steel beams to support top floor. I always admired my father's intelligence, his interest in learning, and he was well versed on the Bible, a very religious man.

On a day to day basis, I have no nicknames.

Closest thing to a nickname is what my Papa called me, Meggie. He was the only one I let call me that. He also had a short name for my cousin Teresa, Tessa, which I always liked better than her real name.

Hello. No, Morrigan isn't part of my name. My favorite artist, Amy Brown, painted her and she's one of my favorite paintings. I was fascinated by her story and used her as my screen name. Morrigan can be found in Irish mythology, and is described as being a "great queen" and "goddess of war." The stories say she would come in the form of a crow to soldiers who would die soon. The painting is pretty amazing you should Google it.

And my screen name Sweetly99 I just thought this up and it fits me

because I am a sweet wonderful woman at times and sometimes I am

Maybe not all of the time but yes sometimes because I will stand up for myself if pushed to far into a corner
and as women we should stand up for ourselves and we have to be tough
in this world
And I will not become a doormat for anybody at all no"

"Gorilla Head"?!?
Amanda
(reply to cabinfever) posted 16-Feb-2007 2:49pm
Yeah. I think I've shared this story here before....

When my oldest nieces, Danielle, was little, my brother, Cory, came up with this story to tell her. He told her that when I was 2 years old, I was laying on the floor in the living room. My dad came in, didn't see me, and stepped on my head. They rushed me to the ER. The doctors said I needed a head transplant. Problem was the only head available was a gorilla's head. My parents agreed to try it. So, that's how I got a gorilla's head. Danielle would sit and stare at me, trying to figure out if it was true or not. Since then, they've all called me Gorilla Head. She even introduces me to her friends as Gorilla Head and they all call me that. It's turned into this big, huge joke with everyone. One of those things that just won't die!

OK, it's not that long a story. Back when I was a regular on the View Askew message board my username was The Great Green Arkleseizure, a reference to the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and people there started calling me just Arkle for short and it kind of stuck.
