| ausfox | posted 28-Jan-2007 2:26am Mermaid |
| RGirl | posted 28-Jan-2007 3:26am Well I was already a Banshee once for Halloween. And I have a deep water phobia so mermaid is out of the question. Nymph is my obvious choice being obsessed with ancient Greek beliefs. They weren't immortal but lived an inordinately long time. I'd be one of Artemis' nymphs. She was one of the virgin Goddesses, of the hunt, moon, adolescent girls and childbirth. I'd have to be careful because she was a bit vicious. When Zeus raped Callisto Artemis changed her into a bear. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 28-Jan-2007 5:03am Well, I'm already a warlock at times, and fantasize about being a mermaid, so I'll go with the latter. A gargoyle would be good too, if it really has to be monstrous. |
| Melf | posted 28-Jan-2007 6:51am Nymph |
| ROCKMAN | posted 28-Jan-2007 7:31am Warlock I guess. |

| hypersky | posted 28-Jan-2007 8:59am I'm not a fan of Dragons and fairy tales, so I'll pass on this. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 28-Jan-2007 10:45am Well on the list I would have to go with Warlock since I could cast spells and delve into dark forbidden tomes and lore and spells... And nuke a bunch of people on my ever growing list... LOL
Back when I was a kid, I used to lay out on the lawn at night and hope a vampire would bite me and make me a Vampire, although a Werewolf would have been ok, but Vamps were cooler. I had a list of those I was going to bite once I was a vampire... |
| Iseult | posted 28-Jan-2007 12:30pm Warlock, its female counterpart. I get to do magic and keep my current form. |

| JessicaWoman99 | posted 28-Jan-2007 2:48pm I would rather be turned into a mermaid and I could cause quite a stir around this town
and people would be scared of me he he, a mermaid in K Town |

| southernyankee | posted 28-Jan-2007 8:43pm Something that can time travel. The incarnation of Satan. Highland, so I can live forever. And ninja that has the power to have all the powers I want. Etc etc. What kind of powers does a warlock get? |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to southernyankee) posted 28-Jan-2007 9:55pm ...Like Gandalf or Dumbledore, although warlocks are a bit different than sorcerors. Warlocks are like male witches, and so spells, curses, potions, and summoning demons are more their official thing than the new-age semi-deities (sorcerors) that have their own powers in the cosmos rather than channel spirits to do things. |
| romkey | posted 28-Jan-2007 11:38pm Warlock... |
| Zang | posted 29-Jan-2007 1:27am I suppose that if someone were to transform me into a vampire, it wouldn't require much alteration of my lifestyle. I wonder if anyone would even notice... |
| RGirl | (reply to Gomezy3k) posted 29-Jan-2007 2:52am That's pretty cool actually. |
| Cain | (reply to Zang) posted 30-Jan-2007 4:49pm Often seen hanging about at four o'clock in the morning sucking necks are you? |
| Zang | (reply to Cain) posted 31-Jan-2007 2:49pm The neck sucking has been on hold for a little while. |
| Enheduanna | posted 3-Feb-2007 11:12am I'd need more details about what each of these is. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 3-Feb-2007 5:38pm I thought your profession would be neighbored by people taking an interest in mythology. Except for a banshee, I thought every american teenager was familiar with these. Granted, a talking animal might be anything from a talking dolphin to a talking rhinocerous, but I imagine the choice is up to us.
Now choose and sign the contract. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 3-Feb-2007 6:04pm With the exception of nymphs, perhaps, these kinds of creatures are more common in European mythology, which is far enough removed from my discipline that I don't hear much about it. What I know of most of these figures is from myth and fiction I've read in a non-academic setting, and I've read enough to know that there are many different types of some of these critters. Are we talking about a Tolkienian elf, or a Keebler elf? And even with nymphs, can I be any kind of nymph, or is there a specific type? |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 4-Feb-2007 3:33am "What is the weight of a swallow?" "What kind of swallow? An African swallow or an European swallow?" {King Arthur in Monty Python's 'Jabberwocky'}
Yes, there are water and wood nymphs. I suppose one might favor becoming a Tolkien elf and opposed to becoming a shoe-maker elf. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 4-Feb-2007 10:22am Exactly. |
