| LindaH | posted 6-Jan-2007 9:41pm I'd have to think about it. I've been buying a lot of CDs lately. It might have been a greatest hits set by Crosby, Stills and Nash. |

| RGirl | posted 7-Jan-2007 12:01am Norah Jones' 2nd one. Christmas present for my mom. Of course I'll have to burn a copy for myself. |
| Enigma | posted 7-Jan-2007 12:26am Bought Queen's "Jazz", easier to play than the album I bought when it was first released. |
| Melf | posted 7-Jan-2007 3:57am 5 CDs - Ultimate Chopin: The Essential Masterpieces |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 7-Jan-2007 5:53am Mia Doi Todd's 'Manzanita' at a concert she did. At the Goodwill Tracy Chapman's New Beginning, via radio pledge King Kukelele (goofy hawaiian). I can't afford the music I'd really like to be buying, but on the other hand I'm usually so busy catching new music on college radio that it doesn't matter. |
| Irene007 | posted 7-Jan-2007 8:13am I bought 2 CDs from Esthero. On title I can't tell what it is (first album I think) and the other is |

| autumnlight | posted 7-Jan-2007 1:11pm I think the last one I actually bought from the shop was The Open Door by Evanescence. I have downloaded some since then though. |
| hypersky | posted 7-Jan-2007 1:14pm Shakira's Laundry Service. I'm in lust... |

| Iseult | posted 7-Jan-2007 6:32pm Bob Marley and the Wailers - Gold
I stopped buying CDs because they rip you off with prices when I can download them for free online. |

| Iseult | (reply to hypersky) posted 7-Jan-2007 6:35pm I bought that CD five years ago.
Although I did get Oral Fixation II last summer. |
| CGTREE | posted 7-Jan-2007 6:43pm I'm pretty sure the last CD I actually purchaced was "System of a Down" I forget what the cd is called at the moment...but that's who its by...this was like two years ago. |
| hypersky | (reply to Iseult) posted 7-Jan-2007 8:16pm I got Oral Fixation, too (the CD, I mean). She is refreshing for a pop star. I love the balance between outright sexuality and humility in her lyrics. |
| romkey | (reply to Iseult) posted 7-Jan-2007 9:44pm I think I will too! I'll find out Monday when it arrives |
| cloudhugger | posted 7-Jan-2007 11:07pm Too long ago... |
| cloudhugger | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 7-Jan-2007 11:09pm Do you find that movie soundtracks sound as great as they did in the movie. I've been dissappointed efore. |
| Frostbrand | (reply to cloudhugger) posted 8-Jan-2007 4:04am Well in this case it was better than the movie, but really there is no blanket answer for that. It varies from film to film. |
| they | posted 8-Jan-2007 8:06am I don't remember... I burn my music for free.
The last CD I helped pick out was Kid's Bop Gold or something... Ben was buying it for my kid. |
| icurok | posted 8-Jan-2007 12:17pm "Wolfmother" by Wolfmother.
Derivative, but fun. |
| Jody | posted 8-Jan-2007 12:54pm I just bought a bunch of second-hand CDs at the salvation army. I got some classical music, the soundtrack to The Patriot, some Christmas music, some REM, and some new age (Narada label). |
| Enheduanna | posted 8-Jan-2007 1:22pm I don't remember. |
| Iseult | (reply to hypersky) posted 8-Jan-2007 1:28pm I like that she writes her own stuff. |
| hypersky | (reply to Iseult) posted 8-Jan-2007 4:50pm Yup. She's not an empty shell, that one. |
| cloudhugger | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 8-Jan-2007 5:34pm I may have gave up too easily. I know some soundtracks make the movie, and others are merely a nice compliment. |
| Maarten | posted 8-Jan-2007 5:51pm What's a CD?? |
| Amanda | posted 8-Jan-2007 5:59pm I rarely purchase cds. It's hard to remember the last one I bought. I'm thinking it was a Rascal Flatts one, over a year ago. |
| ausfox | posted 9-Jan-2007 5:29am I don't remember |
| thecomic22 | posted 9-Jan-2007 10:52am I prefer to burn my own, rather than spend 16-20 dollars for something that i'm only going to listen to maybe once or twice if that much, for maybe like 3 tracks on the whole cd that I like. |
| chumpsrock | posted 10-Jan-2007 2:02pm I bought:
Shakira- Laundry Service Christina Aguilera- Back to Basics James Blunt- Back to Bedlam and The Album of the Year Mas Bailables (most danceable) The reason for my mainstream choices is that I haven't had much access to music info. lately, so I'm out of the loop. |

| icurok | (reply to Melf) posted 17-Jan-2007 4:50am Yes, I remember you saying in the "What are you listening to" thread. Did you see his cover performance of "Communication Breakdown" at the UK Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony last year? |
| Melf | (reply to icurok) posted 17-Jan-2007 12:43pm Nope. Was it good? |
| icurok | (reply to Melf) posted 17-Jan-2007 1:52pm It was. He sounds like he's the bastard child of Robert Planet and Ozzy Osbourne anyway (with a bit of Jack White thrown in for good measure), but even I was surprised at how spot on it was. The camera was cutting to shots of the audience and you could see they were really enjoying it. |
| icurok | (reply to Melf) posted 17-Jan-2007 1:54pm Actually I just found the clip on YouTube and in hindsight it sounds a bit ropey. Maybe it's the difference between watching something on YouTube and watching on a TV with Dolby Surround Sound. I remember thinking it was pretty fudging good at the time.

| Melf | (reply to icurok) posted 17-Jan-2007 3:01pm Aww, nice one. Good description of him |
| Melf | (reply to icurok) posted 17-Jan-2007 3:08pm It sounds a bit dodgy (drumming's off a little at the beginning, etc.), but I see how it would've worked. I can't see them lasting very long though, for some reason. I don't think they're consistent enough. |
| icurok | (reply to Melf) posted 17-Jan-2007 3:25pm A bit like Jet. Catchy and fun, but ultimately unoriginal and derivative. The kind of band where you know you're not going to bother buying their second album. |
| Melf | (reply to icurok) posted 17-Jan-2007 3:33pm Exactly. |
