Heaven or Hell - Where will you go?

Have a look back on your life. If you were to die tommorow, do you think you would be sent to heaven or hell? For those of you who don't believe in H or H, this is an exercise to see if you have behaved in life. So no comments like "I don't believe in H or H". I want to know whether you have been an angel or a bit of a devil. So for once just join in on the game.

I'm a good person, I'll go wherever good people go. If it's heaven(doubt it), then that's where I'll go.

According to Christian Mythology I will be going to hell. According to my own mythology I will cease to exist as an entity.

I suppose it depends on whose version of heaven and hell -- the criteria change depending on what variety of which religion you're looking at. i like to think that i've lived my life well enough to make it into heaven, but i sometimes fear that my shortcomings will doom me to hell.

I haven't been an angel, that's for sure. I believe I will go to Sheol and toil through the burden of my life's evils. After that, I will arrive at the judgement. I will be exhausted and content. I will be glad but humble. Perhaps I will reflect for eternity on the nature of my G-d. Perhaps I will return to Earth and try to find Her again in her own new life...

**K_R:

With regard to Sheol: I have never heard of ChristaDelphians, but their interpretation and mine aren't so far off. I imagine Sheol as hard toil in earth--digging trenches, forming the land--with no break for the body, but contemplative freedom for the mind as it leaves the body to it's work...

With regard to Her: I did find her. :) I enjoy every moment I spend with her. I wonder if I could find her again in a different life...

"Heaven for climate, Hell for society." It depends on whose "moral" yardstick you're using. According to the neo-Christian ethics being promulgated these days, I'm going straight to Hell. If I am judged on loving, charity, and positive contributions to individual humans, humankind, and the universe, it's a mixed bag but I like to hope the balance favors Heaven.

KR/t/and other alters...yes...we all would...so in a sense...heaven would actually be hell. hell on the other hand would be full of those who refused to conform to the Christian rules. Artists and musicians, prostitutes and homosexuals, thieves , liars....wait...strike that..... reverse it.....then that would mean all TV evangelists would go to hell...not heaven....

I abstain....I'm going to be reincarnated...as a cat.

Well, I DON'T believe in heaven and hell, but I clicked on heaven because even though I am far from perfect, I feel that I am basically a kind person who would never intentionally hurt another, and that's what I think is important in life. Therefore, the possibility of being "judged" after I die does not scare me. However, if the Christians are right, I'm screwed!

I have behaved, for the most part, in a way which is in keeping with what I believe to be a high standard of personal morals. There have been times when I've acted in ways counterindicated by my own ethos, and in those circumstances I have, mostly, tried to make amends. HOWEVER, I have pretty strong evidence that my personal ethos are considered highly immoral by some others. I'm really not sure, some days I judge myself harshly, other days I'm very pleased with myself and my behavior.

I've done my 'bad' things in life.. ALthough I am a good person.. but on a christian's p.o.v. I'd go to hell.. but that doesn't matter to me-- because I'd rather go to hell then heaven .. ..

I'd rather be w/ an honest deamon..then a lying hypocritical god.

h: Heaven on earth is a place where everyone you meet has absolute trust and love for each other, and many of them go as far as knowing every thought in your head, and work with you explaining things. The birds sing, the meals are wondrous with everyone contributing, the skies are clear of smog and smell of flowers, there are no strangers. If that doesn't seem worth having, take your option. If you've taken King James literally, I understand your difficulties.

I have no faith in imagined worlds. It's fun to think about and creativity is to be applauded. But there is a difference between what is real and what is illusion/delusion.
There is a time and a place for dreams.
But I have found to make a dream come true, you must also keep your feet firmly planted on the ground.

Kristal - Your heaven on earth sounds splendid, but I think constant "perfection" like that would actually get rather boring. How could we appreciate the good things that happen to us if nothing bad ever happened? How could we appreciate beauty if there was nothing ugly to see? How special would spring be if there was no winter?

I've often debated this. Wondering if that's why i left those circumstances. That description of heaven bore a great similarity to a state of Satori, which isn't conducive to comparative analysis. That 'heaven' bears little similarity to the relief of an ice-cream or cold soda on a hot summer day. If your only experiences of Joy are based in contrasts to hardships, then I see how you would think that way. I guess I like solving hardships, any i have on my own are only a matter of opinion. All my physical and emotional needs are taken care of, so i keep myself busy coaching others in trying to reach such a state. I occaisionally ask for hardships in the same fashion as people choose to watch horror movies, but it's hard to take seriously for long.
