I don't believe any woman should be forced to give birth to a child she does not want. |
| Maarten | posted 3-Jan-2007 1:33pm No girl/woman should be forced giving birth. She's the one who chooses whether to have a baby or not. |
| mandy | posted 3-Jan-2007 2:09pm I have a 16 year old daughter. I would appeal to her to put her own feelings aside and think about the entire picture. I would speak to her about all the options and the consequences. I would love her and support her and ultimately stand by her final choice. I would definately let her know that under the circumstances, where the child is wanted by even one side of it's family, abortion might not be the best thing. I think she would regret it later. If she could convince me that the sacrifice of 9 months and the physical burden on her body and the emotional turmoil of being a pregnant teen would be more than she could bear, I'd support that choice. I would never ever FORCE my daughter to do anything against her free will that would cause her horrible emotional distress. She's a human being and this is her life. I am just the vessel and the guide. |
| bill | posted 3-Jan-2007 2:10pm Yes, of course, woman should be treated like farm animals! |
| filiasan | posted 3-Jan-2007 2:12pm No but maybe send her to a private school. |
| cerealkiller | posted 3-Jan-2007 2:40pm Abortion should be mandatory, boy should be happy to escape doom. |
| cerealkiller | (reply to bill) posted 3-Jan-2007 2:47pm > Yes, of course, woman should be treated like farm
> animals! Sure. It should be like in some tribal areas in Africa, where the women lie on the ground all day naked with their legs spread and any guy can climb on any female he wants with no payment or responsibility. Hey, think I'll head over to the fudge farm for some pussy before heading to Starbucks for coffee, then into the jungle to hunt for dinner and firewood. |
| bill | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 3-Jan-2007 2:58pm I feel it should be noted that Africa has quite a bit of trouble with AIDS these days too. |

| NikkiLovesDustin | posted 3-Jan-2007 3:14pm Unless it pregnancy happend out of rape then yes. I do think so, because though the "16 girl or younger" is too young to have a kid in the opinion of most people it is her own fault for having some sort of unprotected sex in the first place..it's not the babie's fault your pregnant don't punish it for one of your mistakes....just give it to the father if you don't want it..at least it would have a chance to live...it deserves a chance to live. |
| cabinfever | posted 3-Jan-2007 3:48pm Forced to give birth? Hell no! Where were her parents before she got pregnant? But I do have to say that I am against abortions performed after the first trimester. |
| LindaH | posted 3-Jan-2007 4:00pm Amusing use of the word 'force'. Giving birth to a baby is a natural biological process after conception and development. A pregnant person is no more "forced" to have the baby (by being denied an abortion) than a nauseous person is "forced" to throw up by not being given anti nausea medicine. Unless someone raped her, I see no force in the situation. Nature doesn't take it's course by force. |
| autumnlight | posted 3-Jan-2007 6:15pm No,no,no,no NO! |
| Enigma | posted 3-Jan-2007 6:26pm I have a 14 year old girl. I would cry myself to sleep for a year if I found out she had an abortion without my knowledge, love and support during such a traumatic time in her life.
Should she be "forced" to give birth to the baby? I don't think this survey means to get into a discussion on abortion so I'm not going to do that. Since she is pregnant and there is someone who is available to love and raise the child I think the unselfish thing would be to have the baby. This would depend on a lot of factors though, many people may choose abortion. I would hope after discussion that would not be the choice we arrived at but until I'm in the situation I can't say what would happen. I find this a very distressing subject whenever it comes up. |
| Zang | posted 3-Jan-2007 8:10pm Forced? No, of course not. That would be an outrageous affront to human dignity.
However, in the circumstances described, I would hope that she would weigh her options and give some consideration to that possibility. |
| RGirl | posted 3-Jan-2007 8:48pm Absolutely not. |
| hypersky | posted 3-Jan-2007 10:31pm This is where God's gift of abortion is appreciated most.
If there is a means to legally bind the father to raising the child without the mother being involved, and if the mother consents, then sure, why not. If there is no iron-clad way that the mother will not ever be cleared of raising this fetus she doesn't want, then let her terminate the pregnancy. Nobody should ever force a pregnant woman to give birth to a fetus she doesn't want to care for. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 3-Jan-2007 11:43pm No she should not be forced to give birth, nothing should be forced upon a person and she is still a child and the best course of action should be decided upon by responsible and grown adults I mean come on get real, and it sounds like she is being harshly punished and she is still a baby herself and who the hell cares even if the Father or Family agree to raise the child, how do you really and truly know if you can trust them from not running away and leaving this 16 year old girl left to raise the child on her on, can you believe everything somebody may tell you? I just do not put my trust into the Father or the Family agreeing to raise this child and have them walk away from this responsibility and it will happen |

| gambler | posted 4-Jan-2007 4:44pm Absolutely fudging not!! ........... I am all for picking up the pieces if she CHOOSES to have it, but otherwise, NO |
| Iseult | posted 6-Jan-2007 11:58am Unless there is more than one father (which I don't think is possible YET), it's father's.
And no, I don't think she should be forced to carry a child if she doesn't want to if the babby daddy/baby daddy's family agrees to raise the child. |
| Amanda | posted 11-Jan-2007 10:49am No one, regardless of age or marital status, should be forced to carry a child.
However, at that age, I'd suggest some serious counseling before she had an abortion. Perhaps even talk with some women that have been through that. You don't realize the emotional trauma something like that will cause until it's too late. |
| shorty189 | posted 5-Feb-2007 11:37am i don't know, it's a choice ofboth of them not just the mother |
