I made this survey because my cat just climbed onto my chest and demanded cat-loving. so i petted her; then she drooled on me.

s~       (cheschire cat drooling)
LA, CA USA seems to have a severe shortage of kittens, or for that matter any animal life (I suspect insect control affected the entire food chain) compared to when i was a kid.
I did however get my wish when I asked for more colorful birds; I stepped out of the house just in time to see a flock of parrots fly overhead.
I had a cat named Panzer that drooled when nuzzling,he was a huge Russian Blue.
I only pretend to drool.

My cat drools in the car if it is extremely hot outside. That is the only time that he drools... He does like to suck on terrycloth though.

KR: there is no such thing as a severe shortage of kittens anywhere in the United States... In the US, more than 50,000 dogs and cats are born each day. I can't believe that's not enough for you.

Maybe LA has the cat population under control (which I doubt) because Bob Barker spays and neuters strays like crazy.

I don't have a cat but of the ones that my family and friends have I have never noticed them to drool.

It's a response to being touched and loved. She drools like a baby.

santa cruz, ca, usa had cats everywhere. local papers & flyers advertised free kittens. cats hung out in peoples yards. i just dont see that happening here (LA,ca,usa), though sometimes they show up at the pound.

One of my three cats drools when being petted. He only started doing it recently, and I think it was because he needed dental work. He had the dental work yesterday, so now we'll see.

My cat drools sometimes when she's being petted and seems to be in total ecstasy. A cat I used to have drooled so much her nickname was Spitty Kitty.

Fooyun - LOL Another cat of mine used to rub his nose and head so hard on anything and everything that he would often have a scab on his nose. It was always wet, too, so I got slimed a lot! * smile *

one of my cats drools very infrequently, usually when he's purring extra loudly and is very very happy

one of my cats (the one who doesn't drool very often) drooled on my face yesterday. i was laying on my bed, and she stood on my chest and i petted her and she purred loudly and happily and then she drooled on me.

that's when i stopped petting her. at least for a while.

regis, maybe there's just something in the way you pet cats that makes them drool.

Yes...but is it really drool?...sometimes it comes out of my cat's nose....but it's not thick like mucus....it's watery like tears or drool or spit....so, it stands to reason it must be some kind of "cat love juice"

My cat Lucy doesn't drool. But the other one, Tipsy, does. That's where she got her name from. She likes to eat marijuana and after she does, any touch or attention will make her drool.
