What was they highest price you have ever paid for taking a taxi?

It was something like $300.

Probably $50 (US) from Laguardia to downtown New York. My first time to NYC and the cab driver probably figured that out the moment she saw me. She took me on the scenic route through Central Park. Nice to see, but a totally useless detour. I only figured that out when my cab fare from downtown to Laguardia 3 days later ended up costing me $30 or so.

About 25 dollars. It was a very early ride to the airport. I was so freakin' hung over, and it was only about 8 miles. I was hanging on to my insides, he's was driving like a maniac. I tipped him kinda low, I guess, because he looked pissed at what I gave him. I honestly didn't mean to, it was too early and too painful to figure out what else I had in my pocket. If my flight was an hour later, I could have taken a shuttle bus...for free...and a less aggresive drive.

I have never been in a taxi.

It costs about $25 to get across the city. I've only paid that a couple of times. I much prefer to take the bus, and only call a cab if it's late (past 10 pm).

In Hong Kong, probably around HK$300, about US$40. I may have paid more in London (taxis are expensive there) but I don't recall how much. Haven't been there since 2000.

Most I paid was $25.00 I work for a taxi company here, and our cabs do not have meters in them. We are subdivised by the city, and state, and we charge flat rates as long the passenger is in the city limits (our city is about 16,000 people) and our fares are: Regular passenger $3.00 Students $2.50 All extra passengers $0.75 Elderly $1.50/each Handicapped (With county ID) $1.50/each All extra stops $1.00 for the wait, plus fare. Out of town $1.00/mile (Within a 5 miles) $1.50/mile if more then 5 miles)

I haven't been in a taxi for such a long time...but I remember when I did, it was very expensive.

Last time I took a taxi was in Okinawa while in the Service. I split the price with another guy and I think it still cost me $20. I haven't used a taxi since.

Oh wait I did use one after a New Years eve party a couple times but if was free.

I hardly take a taxi anywhere. I had to use one getting home to my boat from the Amtrak station once and the total cost including tip was $7 or $8.

I don't remember. The most expensive taxis I've been in, per mile, though, were in Japan.

I took a $50 taxi ride that was split four ways. Me and a buddy and a couple of German tourists. Other than that, I've probably taken many that were in the more than $15 less than $20 range.

More than $100. I had no idea my destination was so far away when i got in, and i realized it too late to stop and find some other way of getting there.

I have to admit to my disgrace that sometime back in the 1980s I paid something close to a hundred British pounds (which I think is over 200 dollars) for a cab from a night club I had attended all the way to my home in suburbia, as I had to work the following day. As things transpired, I took the day off.
