| Galomorro | posted 10-Dec-2006 6:42pm Portugal. Because I have a strong attraction to certain old Lisbon neighborhoods; traditional Portuguese folkdance and music, the language, etc. |
| Enheduanna | posted 10-Dec-2006 6:43pm Italy is at the top of my list right now, since I haven't been there and it's supposed to be incredible. I also love the food. |
| dab | posted 10-Dec-2006 7:01pm Australia. My college roommate was from Oz as is a friend I haven't seen in too long. It just seems like a fascinating place. There used to be several companies in Australia that ran flying vacations down there for pilots. They'd help you with the necessary paperwork, rent you a plane, and give you information about flying in the area. I think that would have been a wonderful way to see the country. Unfortunately, someone decided that the rules should be "tightened up", in the name of security you know, and those business have gone the way of the dodo. |

| Zang | posted 10-Dec-2006 7:17pm Tanzania, specifically Zanzibar. About 15 years ago, I took a trip around the world for four months. I went with my girlfriend at the time. It gave me a taste for what I like when I'm traveling. I like exotic places. I also found that I enjoyed staying in one place for a long time, long enough to really get a feel for it. I also thought it might be nice to try traveling alone. That way I could stick to my own schedule, do my own thing, probably meet and mix with more and different people (not that we didn't do a lot of that). So I kind of have this idea of going there, checking into a cheap (ish) hotel for a few months, somewhere in Stone Town, which is the old part of Zanzibar City and just hanging out, meeting people, getting a real feel for the place. |
