I've got to have it- on occasion, usually involving records or dvds; can't afford it- the scooter I want * frown * ; I'll ask for it as a present- usually if it is a book or dvd series

I'm actually quite capable of admiring nice things without the thought of owning it even entering my mind! For example, my neighbour might have a nice ass. I can appreciate that. It doesn't mean I want it. Ya know what I mean? * raspberry *

I think do I really NEED it? Can I afford it? What I need and want, I can't buy.

I'll make a note of it. But, then again, it depends on how much money I have on me, how much it costs, and, er, how small it is.

I'd love to have it but don't have the money so it's forgotten within minutes.

Any/all but steal it. It depends on what it is, where it is, how much it costs, etc. And sometimes I just think, "Oh, that's nice, I like it," without wanting to possess it for myself somehow. Although usually if I really like it, I want it.

I say things like 'Oh isn't this cute!' or 'This is cool!' and that is all I mean, but Anne assumes that when I say these things I am actually saying 'I want to buy this.' It can be a little frustrating. I have to explain every now & again that I am only commenting.

I find the same thing sometimes with my SO, and I think he thinks I'm really materialistic as a result! Of course, I am kind of materialistic, but I don't think I'm that bad!

I think "wow I like that". Things I see that I like aren't always something that are available for purchase.

There can't possibly be one answer for this question. There are degree's of desire. I'll never steal anything...for how could I possibly enjoy it. There are certain books that I buy at the drop of a hat and there are clothes I insist never to buy unless they go on sale. If I have had a particularly hard week, I will treat myself...getting something just because I want a reward. All kinds of answers, Bill.

I think of surveys all the time... most of them, I forget and never submit, though. I try to write them down, but most of the time, I don't have pen/paper handy.

You need (as a possible Christmas present) a very small dictaphone that physicians use. You need to keep it in your pocket. They are very small and sophisticated now. When you have an idea (after all, 692 may be making the well run dry), record it and, in your own time, create the survey. Forget pens/paper...inventions of the past. * wink *

Depends on whether or not I can live another day without it. If I don't need it, I gaze at it longingly, and than get on with my life and forget about it.

I think, "Wow, there's something I like!"

Thoughts of buying it don't enter my mind. Why stress over what you can't afford.
