At what age did you/will you stop looking forward to your birthday ?

No doubt about it, when we were all younger, we all looked forward to our birthday. We would receive cool presents and we'd boast to our friends how old we were. However, there is a time when the cachet of a birthday disappears and you start to dread them. Speak from your own experience or if you haven't reached the age yet, state what age you think you will be !

Each year I look forward to my birthday, hoping to recapture the innocence and exuberance of my youth. Each year I'm disappointed, but that doesn't stop me from hoping.

I don't get excited about my birthday, but I don't dread it.

Growing old doesn't bother me much (well, not at the moment anyway). I'm not really into my birthday, I don't like people making any sort of fuss over me, especially at a social event. It makes me feel stressed and uncomfortable.

It's not that I don't look forward to my birthday, it's just that I dislike the stupid Happy Birthday song everyone insists on singing.

When I got to college I had this 'friend' who would throw obnoxious parties for everyone's birthday. So I never told anyone when mine was out of self-defense. Although, really, I think it went back before that even.

I hope I never stop looking forward to my birthday. My friends may hope otherwise...

Around 20-23-ish. I've never looked older than 14 or 16, so I've stopped holding my breath. Every birthday is just another year gone by and another number added to my age.

I love my birthday- I decide that I get to be treated like a princess- sometimes people come along with me on my little fantasy and treat me that way, too, other times it's just me treating myself extra-special. Either way is okay fine with me.

I still like birthdays. I will start to dislike them as I approach 40, I suppose.

never, and I'm 59. Life, for me at least, has truly been like a bottle of vintage wine, it is getting better and better, because I work at it. That's no 'bullcrap' neither. I'm here arn't I?

I still look forward to my birthdays but I don't know why, because they've been pretty sucky these last few years.

When I turned 18 I was so excited, more excited than I had ever been. But when my 19th rolled around I acted like I didn't even know. I'm even embarrassed to admit I'm 19 sometimes.

A question much on my mind today, as it's my birthday. In the last few years it's gotten less signifigant. It's not quite on a "just another day" level. It's more of a "what's the deal" sort of thing...

Halo - that reminds me of something my Grandfather used to say. Starting at around age 95, when people would say "Good to see you!", he'd say, "Good to be seen!".

There should be an option for always looking forward to your birthday. I hope that I'll always have friends and family to enjoy the celebrations with.
