Would you visit a site like this:?

I'm thinking of putting up a new web site, just for fun. When we were younger, my brother and I pulled quite a few pranks/stunts, some of which were quite elaborate in their planning and execution. Since I have pretty much the same sense of humor I had when I was a teen, I thought it'd be fun to recreate some of the better pranks/stunts we did as kids.

The difference? Being older and having means that were previously unavailable (ie. money, better technology, life experience), the pranks would be fine-tuned. Everything would be documented on video (a brief description of the original prank, what we did to improve the prank, a musical score, etc.) and the videos would then be hosted on the website for everyone to enjoy. There were also a number of ideas we never ended up using for one reason or another (usually money), which we'd finally be able to do. Just looking for some input. Thanks.

I might. I'd have more appreciation for pranks done on people who deserve them. I'd want to see what the person did to provoke the prank. That would make it more fun to watch.

No, I think it would get out of hand and dangerous. It's just like happy slapping.

I'd check it out if you posted a link.

Have you seen the book "RE/Search #11: Pranks!"? I suspect you might find it of interest. It has interviews with all sorts of famous and not so famous pranksters.

It sounds like it would be very popular, though you might run into legal problems.

If it turns out to be pretty good you could ask for some suggestions from SC users just to see how crazy you would get. That would be fun.

No, not on a regular basis. I might once just for the novelty, but my experience with these types of things is that they quickly spiral out of control because people start trying to outdo one another.... and inevitably, someone gets hurt.

Yes, sounds like a good idea. You could let others post their pranks/stunts too.

That be fun to watch. I have an idea or two to how to actually use the internet as the means of pulling pranks, not just posting them.

Call me cynical, if you charge people money to watch them, I would suspect you and the "victim" of dilibritly staging the prank.

This type of stuff doesn't really interest me. I don't think I'm your target audience anyway.

I think pranks are unkind at best, damaging at worst.

I'd be interested in watching the videos, but to be honest if they were good enough and funny enough, they'd be picked up by the clip sites that I already visit from time to time.

To tell you the truth, I think it would be more complicated than you are making it appear to be. Didn't bloopers and practical jokes (the TV show) do the same thing and it took a lot of planning editing..etc...etc...Good idea, but I think it's meant for Hollywood. * smile *
