We won't buy or let off any but we'll probably see and hear the ones that other people set off.

I think the best way to celebrate Independence Day would be with a revolution. Anyone with me? We can strike, then flee to Mexico. Viva la revolution.

I forgot it was the 4th until I read the paper today. There was one page about the 4th with Bill's speech printed and an article written by our Consulate General.

There used to be a very good fireworks display over a lake synced to music here every year, but the government decided the public park could better be used as an F1 Grand Prix track and so there went the fireworks (along with some houses, lots of trees, some parkland...)

It was actually Britain and its empire not England

Fireworks are cool *if* they do something more interesting than just go 'bang' and light up the sky. The display I saw this year had great pillars of fire going up from the ground, which were really unique and different and the kids next to us complained loudly that they didn't explode. Philistines.

I didn't plan to see the Boston fireworks display, and ended up watching them on television, much to my surprise. To my further surprise I enjoyed this activity, and found myself longing to be watching them from the river-view office of several of my friends. It seemed to be a very good show, surprisingly successful at synchronizing with the music, and with a far greater than average variety of explosions and a more "designed" look that I really appreciated. I dislike the "boom" "ahhhhh" "boom" "ooohhhh" that usually happens because it tends to get boring, but this one seemed to be more "boom chicka boom chicka boom boom boom yeah" "OoooooHHH!" If that makes any sense.

I hate the crowds and the heat more than I like fireworks.

I missed them because I was busy doing other things, but I regret it.

I used to love fireworks to the point of obsession. Now I can take em or leave em.

I enjoy fireworks, but try to avoid the traffic usually accompanying them.

I don't plan to see fireworks this weekend, but I saw them on the 4th, which I assume is what you mean. I'm indifferent to them as spectacle, but enjoy being part of a citywide herd of humans bleating to the same stimuli...

I went on a Boston Harbor dance cruise last night (a week after Independence Day)... about halfway through the evening someone noticed that there were fireworks over Boston. I think the band got kind of annoyed because we all stopped dancing for half an hour to watch.

On the 4th I did set off fireworks but here in Maryland they are illegal so we had to drive to Virginia.

I love fireworks. But I didn't get to this question until Halloween. Oh well, maybe I'll go set off some fireworks for the hell of it.
