| Shamrock317 | posted 19-Jul-2006 5:28pm I used to go bodyboarding all the time when I was a kid...now I take my kids bodyboarding. I had a skateboard when I was a kid, but I never really got around to actually riding it. |
| Melf | posted 19-Jul-2006 6:51pm Skate and snowboarding.
The possibilities are endless! |
| RGirl | posted 19-Jul-2006 7:00pm I like to watch skateboarding. I like to watch surfing on tv, can't see a whole lot in person. I have no desire to do any of these sports. The only one I'd give a try is snowboarding I think. |
| Galomorro | posted 19-Jul-2006 8:19pm I like to watch skateboarding most, I guess, but I have no interest now in participating in any of these sports. I used to like bodyboarding and skateboarding years ago. |
| dab | posted 19-Jul-2006 8:25pm I'd try a few of those (not bungee jumping) but not really interested in watching other people do them. |
| LJD | posted 19-Jul-2006 8:50pm Nothing to do with water, that is out for sure. I may like to ski. I enjoy watching all the extreme sports, but as far as doing, I think snowboarding would be my limit. My husband used to be in the paratroopers, saw a few accidents, so skydiving is out. |
| ultamate | posted 19-Jul-2006 10:26pm oh I have always wanted to skydive!! I will some day. I like watching people bungee jump. I'd like to do that too but only if it was over water. |
| RGirl | (reply to ultamate) posted 19-Jul-2006 11:20pm Don't think of water as a safety net. Landing on water from that height can be deadly. |
| Iseult | posted 19-Jul-2006 11:44pm None of the mentioned ones.
I'd love to practice Parkour, but it is disputes whether or not it's a sport. |
| Zang | posted 20-Jul-2006 1:48am This sort of thing really doesn't interest me. I've waterskied. It was okay...I'd happily watch someone I know participate in any sport. I'm not interested in watching complete strangers do sports. My interest would be centred on the person, not the sport. |
| cloudhugger | posted 20-Jul-2006 1:57am Bodyboarding and surfing.
There are my two answers. I like to watch, and in some alternate reality I would be doing. |
| Anderz | posted 20-Jul-2006 1:22pm Snowboarding and Ski-diving. They look really fun! |
| ultamate | (reply to RGirl) posted 20-Jul-2006 5:56pm If there’s a possibility that I might hit the water or the pavement, I want to hit the water. It seems like it wouldn’t be as big of a mess to clean up. |
| ultamate | (reply to Zang) posted 20-Jul-2006 6:00pm For some reason I thought you were more........hum, daring. |
| RGirl | (reply to ultamate) posted 20-Jul-2006 7:00pm True. |
| llamamama | posted 20-Jul-2006 11:59pm Snowboarding, bodyboarding and maaaaybe wakeboarding I'd want to try. Maybe surfing..But there's that whole, 'ya kind of look like a seal thing'
As far as watching goes, snowboarding I guess. |
| Zang | (reply to ultamate) posted 21-Jul-2006 2:21am Well, it isn't that I'm lacking in courage, if that's what you mean. I just don't get a big thrill out of that kind of stuff. I don't groove on amusement park rides that much either.
Actually, you know what...it occurs to me that in order to enjoy that sort of "extreme sports" kind of stuff (or even amusement park rides) you have to actually be afraid on some level. Otherwise, where's the thrill? |
| MiniMary | posted 21-Jul-2006 11:17am I would be breaking a bone every other minute attempting to do any of these things. What about 'extreme gardening' ? |
| ScubaScott | posted 21-Jul-2006 11:46am I've actually participated in all of the sports listed and enjoyed all of them. I haven't really skateboarded since high school and it's tough to find a place to bungee jump around here anymore, but I still do everything else... Probably more snowboarding than any of the others, though, considering where I live.
As for watching them... I'd much rather be outside doing them than watching people do them. |
| mve17 | posted 21-Jul-2006 12:32pm Sky diving baby |
| Venetian2416 | posted 21-Jul-2006 12:41pm Surfing! I would love to be able to surf. Obviously living 100 miles from the nearest surf resort means it probably won't happen, at least not until I'm older.
Out of all the sports mentioned surfing is also the sport I'd most like to watch. |
| ultamate | (reply to Zang) posted 21-Jul-2006 5:17pm Good point, never thought of it that way. |
| RGirl | (reply to MiniMary) posted 21-Jul-2006 6:27pm Extreme gardening- |
| ROCKMAN | posted 22-Jul-2006 9:10am I've done all of these. The one I like the LEAST though would be the skateboarding. The one I LIKED the most was the skydiving. |
| MiniMary | (reply to RGirl) posted 22-Jul-2006 2:22pm There have been days Meagan......... |
| RGirl | (reply to MiniMary) posted 22-Jul-2006 3:45pm It's Meghan. And I know about extreme gardening really. We have big yard and part of it is like a little forest & get overgrown. Anne reacts to poison ivy but I don't so who gets to go back there paranoid about ticks and spiders? Me. |
| ausfox | posted 23-Jul-2006 1:27am I would participate in skydiving, I have been once. And I would watching surfing. |
| gambler | posted 23-Jul-2006 9:46pm No interest....... I am not that coordinated |
| cabinfever | posted 24-Jul-2006 12:27am I like to watch skateboarders, and someday if I am really brave and stupid I would like to try bungee jumping, for the chiropractic effect. |
| cabinfever | (reply to RGirl) posted 24-Jul-2006 12:32am Extreme gardening will be me in about another couple weeks... my squash plant is HUGE and my tomatoes are now officially out of control. Now if only I could get my pepper plants to do that. Last year I literally had to hack my way through my tomato plants just to harvest the tomatoes. And the orchard is coming on.... the pie cherries are ready to pick. |
| RGirl | (reply to cabinfever) posted 24-Jul-2006 12:37am Cherry pie........ We did tomatoes once & the squirrels ate a bite out of each then dropped it on the ground. |
| cabinfever | (reply to RGirl) posted 24-Jul-2006 12:43am Sounds like my daughter. She does the same thing with apples in the orchard too.
I take it you like cherry pie? |
| RGirl | (reply to cabinfever) posted 24-Jul-2006 12:50am Cherry pie.........
I |
| cabinfever | (reply to RGirl) posted 24-Jul-2006 2:01am My father-in-law has a cherry orchard. Bings and Rainiers, mostly. The kind of cherries you have to pick with gloves on and carefully lay them in the bucket to avoid any bruises because they end up as straight eating cherries.
Here in August there is a Cherry Festival. The tiny convenience store stocks up on extra beer when the cherry harvest comes around for all the Mexican pickers. I just have the one pie cherry tree, but there are a few orchards up the hill from me. I'm trying to decide if I want to try making a cherry pie... with the heat, I'm not too crazy about firing up the stove. I also want to can some, but then the heat and stove thing. I'll have to decide soon... they are ready to pick. |
| RGirl | (reply to cabinfever) posted 24-Jul-2006 2:19am Cherry pie is good cold too! With ice cream! |

| JessicaWoman99 | posted 26-Jul-2006 2:08pm I have no interest in any of these and it scares the hell out of me just watching them, they must have some kind of death wish |
| Sweetypye | posted 26-Jan-2007 1:51pm Snowboarding is the one I'd most like to participate in and Wakeboarding the one I'd be most interested in watching. |
| clo8275 | posted 16-Jun-2008 3:24am I've never done it, probably never will. But I must say, I wish I had the nerve to. I think if I could overcome the fear, it would be the greatest adrenaline rush ever. But it took me two years to get up the nerve to ride a 200 ft. ride at Six Flags called Acrophobia. I was trembling so bad when it was over I couldn't undo my seatbelt. But it was a rush that I was only able to enjoy the second time I rode it. Maybe one day I will skydive, but it will have to be a tandem. If I had trouble with a seatbelt when it was over, I could only imagine trying to pull a rip cord at 5000 ft. and falling fast! |
