| magbast | posted 27-Jun-1999 6:04pm just my SO, my parents, my children, and the only sibling i would want there would be my younger brother... |
| lion | posted 27-Jun-1999 11:35pm My SO, my mom, my sister, and a few close friends. Thats it. I would not care for a large gathering of people around my death bed. |
| fooyun | posted 27-Jun-1999 11:56pm I would like my parents and grandparents there but I really hope I would never put them through the grief of having their child/grandchild die before they did. I would need my siblings and my future kids there as well. |
| presti | posted 28-Jun-1999 10:08am probably my mom |
| supplicant | posted 28-Jun-1999 10:17am I'd like a young nimble blonde there :) |
| gilly | posted 28-Jun-1999 12:55pm Probably would depend on how I was dying and what I expected the end to be like. For my own sake I would probably want an SO and any children, but if I thought it might be not such a pretty death I might want to spare the children. |
| drdt | posted 28-Jun-1999 2:09pm Why would you want your boss? Just so you can tell him you're sorry, but you won't be making that deadline? Oh, and while I think of it, why is it lucky to have time to know you are going to go? I would much rather be taken by surprise. |
| magbast | posted 28-Jun-1999 2:19pm i agree drdt |

| bill | posted 1-Jul-1999 8:04pm Gosh, I hope this doesn't happen to me. I'd prefer my death to be in action, while living - sudden, tragic and a bit mysterious. |
| copprtop | posted 4-Jul-1999 1:39am I said I'd like my parents/grands there, but that's only partly true. I'd prefer that they not be there because that would mean that I'm dying young. But if I did have to die young, then yes, I'd like them to be there. Generally, I'd prefer to be surrounded by people who love me and are important to me. |

| dpolicar | posted 9-Jul-1999 10:33pm Reading through these options evoked the image of throwing one vast going-away party and inviting everyone I know == friends, mentors, coworkers, family, acquaintances, whatever == which would be sorta cool, but I doubt I'd do it. |
| mags | posted 15-Jul-1999 1:34am First of all I would want to die at home in my own bed if that is possible. Then I would want those close to me either next to the bed or near by. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 23-Jul-1999 5:22am I don't plan on dying. |
| mandy | posted 23-Jul-1999 5:06pm ever? |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 23-Jul-1999 8:09pm The worst that would ever happen is I'd choose amnesia periodically. |
| drdt | posted 18-Aug-1999 3:48pm TwM: you want to tell her or should I? |
| mandy | posted 18-Aug-1999 9:50pm You do it...I'm too apathetic at this point. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 18-Aug-1999 10:00pm I bet you didn't even get it. |
| Mariah | posted 31-Oct-1999 5:18am My SO, children if I had them, parents, sister, a few close friends. I can't imagine dying alone. My grandmother died 3 years ago and she was all alone in her apartment and wasn't found for 2 days. Dying alone has been a fear for me ever since. |
| Avocado | posted 14-Nov-1999 11:56pm Good survey concept. But, I'm not sure I would necessarily consider myself 'lucky' to have lots of time to know I was dying. |
| natsim | posted 23-Nov-1999 12:26pm I would like to outlive my parents and grandparents, so I don't want them to be there. No-one wants to see their children die. |
| Frostbrand | posted 15-Dec-1999 5:50pm I'd probably want bill, Twist, Wicksy, and Mariah there. |
| Mariah | posted 15-Dec-1999 8:05pm Thanks, Brian, I guess. Why? It would be pretty weird if that was the first time we met in person. "Hi, you must be Brian...um...I see you're dying, sorry to hear that..." |
| Frostbrand | posted 15-Dec-1999 8:27pm Mariah: That's the exact reason I chose you. I love that kind of thing. Awkwardness, irony, coincedence, and crap. |
| Mariah | posted 15-Dec-1999 8:29pm OK. You've convinced me. I'll be there! |
| mandy | posted 15-Dec-1999 9:25pm Me too... |
| supplicant | posted 16-Dec-1999 6:01pm Brian: You love crap? What exactly is your attraction to fecal matter? (I'll no doubt regret asking this...) |
| Frostbrand | posted 16-Dec-1999 11:32pm supplicant: Metaphorical crap, not actual crap. |
| mandy | posted 17-Dec-1999 9:43pm Oh great! What am I supposed to do with all the poo poo I just bought, to bring to your bedside? |
| Wicksy | posted 18-Dec-1999 2:20am Brian: Count me in mate.....when can I expect a phonecall? |
