I don't eat mac & cheese from a package. It's not that hard to make it yourself & it tastes better.

I don't eat the stuff. I used to eat KD often when I was a teenager--so easy to prepare, even a boy can do it. I can't stand it anymore.

I like to add several slices of Velveeta cheese to it and I don't use butter. Sometimes it goes with hot dogs, sometimes I'll mix in some chili for chilimac.

I love Mac&cheese but I stopped buying them 'cause I waste them. I'll fix one box (sometimes I add milk sometimes I don't) then take the cheese out of another box so I have it extra cheesy! Then I have a box of Mac I end up throwing away. * frown * I use to have a friend who's mother added sugar when she made it. * dead face *

Variation #1 - As instructed with finely chopped onions
Variation #2 - As instructed with finely chopped onions and finely chopped cherry peppers
Variaton #3 - As instructed with my spaghetti sauce
Variation #4 - As instructed with finely chopped onions and all beef hot dogs

That about covers it - what's strange is I never ate the stuff until I met Ben. I think he left home too early and discovered such foods (at 25 cents a box - can you blame him?) 'cause we never had any of that in out pantry but now; I always have a box on hand. It's the only thing Matt will cook for himself... * wry smile *

Not a fan. My kids don't like it, either. If we have mac & cheese, I make it from scratch. Much tastier.

Other, I used to buy the kind that had broccoli in it already but they put too much salt in the cheese now and I find it unbearable. I want to learn how to make my mom's baked macaroni and cheese.

I don't eat Kraft mac and cheese because I think it's nasty and it makes my stomach hurt. I eat Annie's mac and cheese, though. I usually just have it as a main meal, although I don't have it much anymore. My SO makes it sometimes; he does a better job with it than I do, and he always adds ham to it.

OOOHH! A person after my own heart. Living here in England they have nothing that comes close to this what I call a Classic Canadian Convenient food.. Im expecting a package with it and other items that I can no longer buy..
( Shake and bake, maple syrup, KD, Crystal Light ect)
I make my Moms recipe of Mararoni and cheese .. and baked bread crumbs on the top once a month..but you know.. sometimes you just want the KD!!!!!
I boil and salt the water.. pour in the macaroni and wait til it gets soft- but not too soft.. drain.. put in lots of butter and pour in the powder ( sometimes another half of a powder from another box to make it extra cheesy) then the Milk and stir until creamy, add pepper.. Serve with Fried Bologna ( its all Very Unhealthy but oh so good.)
( I cant get bologna shipped over because its meat ) I eat with katchup and more pepper! YUM YUM Funny thing is.. when I am living at home, I get quite sick of KD.. but because I cant get it here, I do tend to crave it alot!! Its so quick to make aswell.

I don't use 'Kraft', Trader Joes has a good boxed mac and cheese kit. I like to add tunafish and peas. Or chopped up chicken or beef with onion and peas.

So what's the difference between Kraft and the ubiquitous microwaveable 'ready meals' you get in Tesco?

I'll toss a tin of tuna into the macaroni before adding the other stuff. I use butter instead of margarine, because I have no use for margarine and I don't buy it. After dumping it in a big bowl, I'll sprinkle some black pepper on it and squirt some ketchup...

I eat it as a meal because there's too much for just one person if I was going to have something else too.

When I was a kid, my mother used it as a side dish. Usually in the Summer, when we would have a cold plate with salad and cold cuts.

I was an adult before I tasted the stuff - I don't get it; it was so cheap - you'd think my Mom would have included it in her groceries. She never liked prepared foods, I don't either but I have a totally different lifestyle than she had... So some stuff does tend to creep into my pantry - I try it once; hate it and never buy it again.

Depends on my mood.
Mac & Cheese with tomatoe soup and hamburger is really good.
Sometimes I like it plain.
Sometimes I cut up hot dogs and put it in there or I put tuna in (poor man's Tuna Helper)

My boyfriend cooks it just as is because I'm a lousy cook or I don't care enough to cook. I'd rather eat frozen foods. Just microwave or on the stovetop but I'm not to crazy about cooking therefore I feel I do a bad job. I think I am afraid to cook for fear of disappointing others & it's a drag to cook just for one.

The Difference is the taste of course.. and the fact that its not Kraft. Its not a ready meal..its a convenient meal you cook or prepare swiftly.... uncooked macaroni in a box that comes with a modified orange cheese powder (yes its horrible for you ) but it really does taste great. I can't find anything like this over here and Ive lived here 8 years off and on.. If you know of where to buy this tell me and I'll give it a go! Yeah you can buy canned mac and cheese over here.. and microwavable too.. its not the same.. I tried it once and couldnt finish it. give me your address I shall send you a box. * wink *
Quite Simply, as the slogan goes....
ITS gotta Be KD.

The odd time I let Kristen have it we just prepare it as according to the box. I think introducing vegetable to it would be sort of insulting...

I usually buy the store brand because my son actually prefers it over Kraft. Usually I fix it as instructed on the box, with a dash pepper in additon to the butter & miilk. Sometimes I will stir in cut up cooked hot dogs or cooked & crumbled up ground beef. If I fix it with the hot dogs or ground beef, I'll stir a small amount of yellow mustard into my serving.
