| ultamate | (reply to ROCKMAN) posted 11-Jun-2006 11:46am The only way I eat grapefruit is with sugar on it which isn't good for my diet. I may eat it once a year, that's as much as I can handle getting squirted in the eye. |

| Melf | posted 11-Jun-2006 12:05pm Apple - I don't like oranges or bananas. |
| Enheduanna | posted 11-Jun-2006 1:28pm An apple, Fuji specifically. Although I do like bananas a lot. But I find that I have to be careful not to eat them too often or they do a number on my stomach. If my leg has been cramping up, though, I'll definitely go for the banana. I don't tend to keep oranges around to snack on; I used to like to have clementines in the winter, but the ones out here just aren't that good. The Spanish ones you get on the east coast are much better. |

| eloradanan | posted 11-Jun-2006 4:48pm If I had to pick one of these, I'd have an apple. If I could choose my own, I'd have a pear. |
| eloradanan | (reply to ultamate) posted 11-Jun-2006 4:49pm I'm the same way about apples. They have to be the Granny Smith variety. The red Delicious type are too bland. |
| kitti723 | posted 11-Jun-2006 4:58pm banana for potassium, i get muscle cramps sometimes & i've been told i need potassium. |
| ultamate | (reply to eloradanan) posted 11-Jun-2006 5:28pm I never peal my apples. For some reason I always get a piece of the red skinned apples stuck between my teeth... that hurts! I don't have that problem with the yellow ones. Now that I'm use to eating the Granny Smith I do like the taste better too. |
| eloradanan | (reply to ultamate) posted 11-Jun-2006 5:44pm I don't peel mine either. You lose all the fiber when you peel them. Have you ever tried a variety of apple called Transparent? |
| ultamate | (reply to eloradanan) posted 11-Jun-2006 5:59pm no I never heard of them either? Is the skin thinner? |
| eloradanan | (reply to ultamate) posted 11-Jun-2006 6:27pm Yes, they have a pale yellow-green kind of skin & they are small. A bit smaller than an average peach, but they have the nice tartness, similar to a Granny Smith. I find them from time to time at the local farmer's market. I don't think I've ever seen them in a grocery store. This is what they look like. ![]() |

I actually bought one of each kind of apples at the store and taste tested each. I deduced that this one is the one I like best. |

One time I was at a fancy lunch, and I had a lemon to put on my seafood. So I delicately held it between my fingers and pointed it down towrds my plate and squeeeezed, and I watched in horror as what seemed slow motion as this huge drop flew through the air and landed square in the eye of the host of our luncheon. He was sitting about 5 people down on the end and he grabbed his eye and said "OW!". No one saw it was me, or knew what happened, but if anyone saw my face they would have figured it out. I would have felt better if it had gone in my eye instead. |
| they | posted 11-Jun-2006 9:54pm Banana if you mean actual fruit.
If we're talking fruit flavored snacks, then orange. |
| hypersky | posted 11-Jun-2006 11:05pm All of the above are great. Of these, I probably have an apple most often, because it's less messy to eat than an orange and is not as fragile as a banana. |

| cabinfever | posted 11-Jun-2006 11:31pm Buh-nah-nuh. With a big spoonful of peanut butter and a tall glass of ice cold fat free milk. But I do make a snack with Pink Lady apples and bananas: I'll slice the banana, chop the apple into bite-size pieces and put them in a bowl. Then I heat up some peanut butter in the microwave and drizzle it over the fruit while stirring it. Then I'll sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon-sugar on top. Very good!! |

but my first choice for fruit is Cherries or WaterMelon. |

I rarely eat fruit but if I had a choice it would be fresh pineapple, watermelon, cherries or a pear. |

This is my mom and Danny. Her lemon squirted in his eye and no one knew what happened. He said "OW! MY EYE!!" We were all asking what happened then realised it was my moms lemon and all busted out laughing. I told him to pose for a reenactment so we could have a picture forever.... |
| Biggles | posted 12-Jun-2006 10:04pm An orange. I hadn't eaten an orange in years, and then I bought one a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. So I bought more I love a good apple, but they're often really disappointing. And I just can't get myself to like bananas. I had some small ones in India which were quite nice, but the ones you get in the supermarkets taste like fake banana flavouring rather than something real. |

| RGirl | (reply to they) posted 13-Jun-2006 12:03am How is an orange not a fruit and only a fruit flavored snack? |
| RGirl | (reply to Anderz) posted 13-Jun-2006 12:06am > An orange. My front gums bleed after having an apple, and I detest

| ROCKMAN | (reply to cabinfever) posted 13-Jun-2006 5:52am Maybe to you, but it don't sound good to me. |
| Anderz | (reply to RGirl) posted 13-Jun-2006 7:39am My teeth are perfect except for the little gap in the two front teeth. They bleed because the skin scrapes along my gums. So if I do eat an apple, I will cut it up into little pieces. |
| they | (reply to RGirl) posted 13-Jun-2006 8:11am Hm? I meant that if I had to choose a piece of fruit, it would be a banana. But if the creator was referring to flavored snacks... like fruity candy or gummies or popsicles.... then I would choose orange. |
