If you were stuck on a desert island with one person, not knowing where you were and with no guarantees of being rescued, who would you rather be with ?

Given that we're going to die in a particularly unpleasant way unless rescued, I certainly wouldn't want it to be my best friend -- better at least one of us survives. Among the rest of these I don't care much; I guess a doctor would be most useful but it doesn't make much difference. Ideally, I'd want it to be someone extremely rich and famous, for whom a serious extended search would be made.

I'd pick my best friend over some stranger, no matter what their skills. Although the magician does sound like a good idea assuming he could magically transport us home. But that seemed too simple!

The minister would probably be the best to talk to in the long run. Lots of time to discuss philosophy.

i would hafta go with a craftsman...we have eternity to be friends...and we wouldn't attempt to swim....i wouldn't attempt to leave the island either..so a navigator wouldn't be of much use...i wouldn't need a reverend...who cares about magic...unless he could teleport me...i wouldn't dare do anything so drastic that i would need medical attention...and if i did get sick...there wouldn't be much a doctor could do for me...

I would pick my best friend, but I wouldn't wish that on him and anyhow we wouldn't stay friends for long under those circumstances seeing as we couldn't stay friends while we were stuck in the same apartment for a year with no hope of rescue...

drdt: I would assume that the toys would not be present on the desert island so I picked him for him. It would be an added bonus if the toys could be included however :)

None taken. I am not and have not ever been a mime. Any similarity between the "mime" in my name and the word "mime" describing the annoying pale faced characters that accost people on the street, and who have been struggling for centuries against imaginary forces and predicaments only to be shunned and tormented in movies and as the butt of numerous stand-up comedy acts...is purely coincidental.
