You buy an item form a store and pay $50, next week the same item is on sale for $25, would you take the item back?

Item : Article of clothing, household item, tools etc basically anything that is not disposable, you get the idea

No. If I was impatient and didn't wait for a sale, that's just how it goes.

No, but I pout and whine a bit.

People do it at my store all the time. If the store had a policy against it or it was a "final sale" I probably would not.

I don't like being in a situation like that.

No I wouldn't. Fred Meyer, where I used to work had a deal where you could take your receipt in and get money back, honoring the sale, if you bought something and it went on sale within one month. * grin * They probably still do that.

Most definitely, if it was in a condition that I could. Then I'd go out for lunch.

It would depend on the store's policy. Some stores allow this, others don't.

No, I would not. Unless it was something I didn't need and then I wouldn't buy it again at the lower price either, punishing myself for frivolous spending.

Many stores have a price guarantee. If the store did, I would take advantage of it.

I don't know how it is in other states, but in Washington you have thirty days to take the receipt back and get the difference without having to take the actual product back. So all I would do is take my receipt in and get a 'price adjustment' done and get that $25 back.

If I hadn't used the item, I probably would. A lot of stores will give you the difference if the item goes on sale within a certain period of time, usually 14 or 30 days.

Yes, if it was permissible. That sale was half the price. That would be worth it. If it were a 5 or 10 dollar difference, then...no, I wouldn't bother.

Sometimes you can wait forever for something to go on sale and you finally get so frustrated...you buy it. There are items that I say, " No way. I'm waiting for the sale price" and it never comes and I finally buy it. If it does go on sale, I'd rather never know about it.

I tend not to keep track of when things will go on sale. If I like something that's too expensive when it's not on sale, then chances are I just won't ever buy it. Usually I forget about them or they're all gone before they even go on sale. If I happen to find something that is on sale that I like, though, all the better!

I'm not sure why I would. If there are stores that will let their customers bring back items and return them so that they can purchase them again at a sale price, I was never aware of this. I'm not sure if that is what is being suggested here. Are we just talking about returning the item out of spite?

Only if it was convenient. If it's a 40 mile drive and I had the time, I woudn't bother.

I guess you don't go through all the sales in the advertising section of your Sunday paper. My friend spends all day on it!

Yes, I would..In NY if you buy something at regular price and the next week you see it on sale, you can take your receipt back to the store and get the difference back.

No, cos you'd only get $25 back for it. What's the point?

Not if I didn't have the receipt. No receipt and they only give you the current sale price credit.

since you are still with in the right amount of time to return an item, you can often just take in the reciept and the will reimburse you for the difference
