| gambler | posted 25-May-2006 7:52pm I probably wouldn't bother |
| Enheduanna | posted 25-May-2006 8:03pm No. If I was impatient and didn't wait for a sale, that's just how it goes. |
| RGirl | posted 25-May-2006 8:54pm No, but I pout and whine a bit. |
| Enigma | posted 25-May-2006 9:11pm People do it at my store all the time. If the store had a policy against it or it was a "final sale" I probably would not. |
| bill | posted 25-May-2006 9:15pm I don't like being in a situation like that. |
| Lahdee | posted 25-May-2006 9:52pm No I wouldn't. Fred Meyer, where I used to work had a deal where you could take your receipt in and get money back, honoring the sale, if you bought something and it went on sale within one month. |
| CarolL | posted 25-May-2006 11:15pm Most definitely, if it was in a condition that I could. Then I'd go out for lunch. |
| eloradanan | posted 26-May-2006 12:09am It would depend on the store's policy. Some stores allow this, others don't. |
| kitti723 | posted 26-May-2006 12:13am No, I would not. Unless it was something I didn't need and then I wouldn't buy it again at the lower price either, punishing myself for frivolous spending. |
| romkey | posted 26-May-2006 12:16am Many stores have a price guarantee. If the store did, I would take advantage of it. |
| Iseult | posted 26-May-2006 1:27am Probably not. I don't bother. |
| Iseult | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 26-May-2006 1:28am In which case 'you snooze, you lose' doesn't apply. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Iseult) posted 26-May-2006 1:35am That's true! |
| cabinfever | posted 26-May-2006 1:55am I don't know how it is in other states, but in Washington you have thirty days to take the receipt back and get the difference without having to take the actual product back. So all I would do is take my receipt in and get a 'price adjustment' done and get that $25 back. |
| Melf | posted 26-May-2006 2:49am Er, yeah? |
| mve17 | posted 26-May-2006 9:13am No, just scream a little |
| gsummers | posted 26-May-2006 9:48am This has happened to me before.. I dont take it back, I just get really ticked off and then move on. |
| Amanda | posted 26-May-2006 11:53am If I hadn't used the item, I probably would. A lot of stores will give you the difference if the item goes on sale within a certain period of time, usually 14 or 30 days. |
| MiniMary | posted 26-May-2006 3:18pm Yes, if it was permissible. That sale was half the price. That would be worth it. If it were a 5 or 10 dollar difference, then...no, I wouldn't bother. |
| blondie20 | posted 26-May-2006 3:20pm No, but I would be ticked off. |
| MiniMary | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 26-May-2006 3:20pm Sometimes you can wait forever for something to go on sale and you finally get so frustrated...you buy it. There are items that I say, " No way. I'm waiting for the sale price" and it never comes and I finally buy it. If it does go on sale, I'd rather never know about it. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to MiniMary) posted 26-May-2006 4:06pm I tend not to keep track of when things will go on sale. If I like something that's too expensive when it's not on sale, then chances are I just won't ever buy it. Usually I forget about them or they're all gone before they even go on sale. If I happen to find something that is on sale that I like, though, all the better! |
| Zang | posted 26-May-2006 7:44pm I'm not sure why I would. If there are stores that will let their customers bring back items and return them so that they can purchase them again at a sale price, I was never aware of this. I'm not sure if that is what is being suggested here. Are we just talking about returning the item out of spite? |
| they | posted 27-May-2006 5:54pm Probably wouldn't bother..... and then feel guilty about it later. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 28-May-2006 1:56pm I would keep it and buy another for $25.00 what the hell, and why return it |
| cloudhugger | posted 29-May-2006 1:26am Only if it was convenient. If it's a 40 mile drive and I had the time, I woudn't bother. |
| MiniMary | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 30-May-2006 12:40pm I guess you don't go through all the sales in the advertising section of your Sunday paper. My friend spends all day on it! |
| Enheduanna | (reply to MiniMary) posted 30-May-2006 12:52pm I don't get the Sunday paper. I just read my news online. |
| MiniMary | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 30-May-2006 1:18pm I still get the paper...I use it for you many things after I am finished reading it! Do I sound snobby and conceited to you, Enheduanna? |
| Enheduanna | (reply to MiniMary) posted 30-May-2006 3:20pm > Do I sound snobby and conceited to you, Enheduanna?
Not at all! |
| MiniMary | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 30-May-2006 3:49pm Thank you. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to MiniMary) posted 30-May-2006 5:05pm (See, I'm snobby and conceited, so you'll always pale in comparison to me! |
| MiniMary | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 31-May-2006 9:10am I LOVE IT!!!! |
| iwish40 | posted 1-Jun-2006 2:37am Yes, I would..In NY if you buy something at regular price and the next week you see it on sale, you can take your receipt back to the store and get the difference back. |
| autumnlight | posted 1-Jun-2006 5:23pm No, cos you'd only get $25 back for it. What's the point? |
| cerealkiller | posted 1-Jun-2006 6:40pm Not if I didn't have the receipt. No receipt and they only give you the current sale price credit. |
| gazelda1 | posted 13-Jun-2006 3:17pm since you are still with in the right amount of time to return an item, you can often just take in the reciept and the will reimburse you for the difference |
| Oscar | posted 13-Jun-2006 3:24pm Yes. That's a lot of money |
| clare | posted 10-Jul-2006 11:43pm If it's store policy to allow this and I still have the receipt, then yes. |
